Imperial Hotel Cork
4 out of 5

Regular hotel. Nothing exceptionally special. Make sure that you put up the " do not disturb " sign on the room as housekeeping will bang on your door at 8.30 even on a sunday morning.

Car park is very far away from the hotel - especially when you consider Irish weather.

The staff were friendly and had a good knowledge of the area recommending places to eat etc. We found the Spa well worth a visit - though guests need to pre-book into the Spa - charged at a 50% discount. We opted for room service breakfasts and the first morning it was delicious. However, we had to leave the hotel early the 2nd day and were told we couldn't have a hot breakfast until 7.30am but were offered an alternative 'Continental' - the rubbery 'almost toast' with marmalade, 2 packets of cereal, 1 pot of tea and no butter was a huge disappointment - having had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, it was not the lasting memory we expected!

Excellent genuine 4* hotel in the middle of Cork City. Great clean and comfortable room room, excellent breakfast. Hotel parking is 5 minute walk away but convenient enough. Didn't try restaurant for dinner or spa facilities. Excellent price on this website. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay here again when travelling to Cork.

Hotel reception, bar area etc gorgeous but some corridors and rooms need improvement. One big tip if having breakfast - don't order cooked breakfast until you have eated oyur cereals. Otherwise breakfast comes before you have finished.

This is a beautiful hotel and in a fantastic location for exploring Cork city. This did mean that it was quite a busy hotel and therefore I found that it was quite noisy at night. But to give a fair review this was really because we had noisy neighbours and was not really fault of hotel. I would stay here again however request a quiet room as they seem to have a lot of functions in their ballroom which leads to late night noise.

My only real problem is the fact that we had to pay for overnight parking but were not told about it when i asked about parking. instead i was asked for payment details in case of any extra chrages to my room. They obviously knew we would be paying for parking and should have told me straight away. Thats all though..only a minor thing..Good hotel, with good food and excellent location

As a business traveller this hotel did not meet any of my needs. I needed help with luggage, which was totally dismissed. I was then offered a carpark which was not accessible to hotel.I was then told that no one would help with parking or luggage. The "1st room " that was issued was so dark and cramped that I refused it. I was offered another cramped dark room at the front of the hotel, which was noisy and uncomfortable. The only comfort that was had, was a fab Italian restaurant called Il Padinas which was around the corner. I never stayed for breakfast in the hotel. If you want oldie worldie, shabby then this is for you. There is so much choice in Cork it's unfortunate that I got it so badly wrong.

The hotel is centrally located in the better part of the city. The rooms are neat and tidy. The staff are well mannered and helpful. The food is good with a very decent Full Irish in the morning to set you up for the day. The rooms onto the front might be considered a bit noisy due to late night revellers but you are in the city after all. There are a number of restaurants local to the hotel and the dinner in the hotel is of a decent standard also. If you have a car there is a secured space available not far away for 6 euros a night. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The spa was really beautiful, if at the top end price wise. Except for the reception staff we found all other staff were so helpful. The location was perfect, well worth a visit.
