The Ibis Hotel Seoul features 280 contemporary style rooms that are set in the heart of Myeongdong area, one of the trendiest shopping districts in Seoul. There are nightclubs, restaurants, and major department stores nearby. The National Museum is just 2 km away and the Dongdaemun Market, Korea's largest wholesale and retail shopping district is only 3 km from the hotel.

Location
The Ibis Seoul Myeong-dong is within 55 km of the Incheon International Airport and 2 km from the Seoul Railway Station. The CGV Theatre, a large IMAX movie complex is within easy walking distance. The Tower of Namsan, or the North Seoul Tower observation post is just 3.6 km away.

Baffled how this hotel got 4.5 out of 5 from reviewers. The pictures and description of the hotel and the rooms did not match what we experienced. This is the first hotel where there were absolutely no toiletries provided and I even had to go down to the front desk for extra towels. I've stayed at numerous hotels in Asia and yes they tend to be on the smaller size, however the room at the Ibis was slightly bigger than a supply closet. The pictures of the bathroom seemed fine, however the actual bathroom feels like a porta-potty. Very disappointed in how much we paid for this room. The only saving grace was that the Ibis was in a great central location close to two subway stations and the COEX.

Seoul has needed a hotel like this for a long time. Most hotels in Seoul are either very expensive international hotels, or local yeogwans. This hotel fills a need for a business oriented hotel.

The room was colorful and clean as was the whole hotel. The fitness room was small, but sufficient. The neighborhood was dead on the weekend. There was a problem with using the sauna/public baths. The woman at the desk on Sunday morning didn't speak English and wouldn't let me go in, though I was a guest and she couldn't explain why. I expect English speaking staff at an international hotel.

Very good Ibis chain hotel in Seoul. On par service and room, nothing to complain about actually. It was located in Gangnam, close to Seolleung or Samseong subway station, so a good base to start from! Top marks for reception staff, shower (nice cabin with soap/shampoo dispenser!). Recommended!
