Returned from one week stay on 10/19. Rained 4 days straight. The buildings were not designed for this apparently, as they leaked every five feet. Flooding water on tile floors not a good mixture. The activities were changed to bingo and roulette in the bar. Sports bar was not open as had other awards meetings or just plain closed. No US TV so if you don't like to watch soccer, what else to do? We went to covered shopping center in Cancun ($55.00 each way) just for entertainment. Food is very good, but very similar in all locations. Italian, Gormet, and Surf and Turf all had fish, steak, lobster. Staff is very courteous but is not encouraged to sit and visit as in the Maya. They are there to serve you, not talk to you. Preferred the rooms here, the atmosphere and activities at the Maya were much better. This was our second time and we were not impressed this time. Beware of being "upsold" on the fine wines, they are NOT included. Great when you could lay out at the pool, not so much otherwise. Couples massage was very enjoyable but it is $250.00. Cancun had some really nice new hotels that would have been closer to action for those days when you had no sun.

Everything about this property was great. The service, the food, and the wonderful golf course one minute by golf cart. Cannot say enough.

We got upgraded from a junior suite to a private villa at no cost. We have no idea why we got upgraded. The staff everywhere is amazing and they do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. For our honeymoon we stayed at Secret Silversands, which is also located in the Riviera Maya, and for our 1 year anniversary we stayed in Isla Mujeres, which we liked except for the fairy ride. Anyways, we have always had a blast in Mexico. Although, the hotel is GORGEOUS, the staff is beyond rude and horrible. When we first arrived everything was looking great. We were greeted with drinks, which the mandarin sour is now my favorite drink, and because it was our anniversary they upgraded us to a beach front room instead of standard. GREAT, we thought. That's when it all went down. If we ordered room service, like they advertise they do 24/7, it would take seriously 45 min-1 hour. Because the resort was so large, you would have to ask for a ride on their 5 or so golf carts. After the first ride, it would take longer and longer waits to get a ride with no one standing in line, just because the front door man didn't want to give us a ride or there was no one around that did. Not only was the room service extremely slow and the food was cold, but also if you ordered more robes or towels they would almost never arrive. On our last day it was storming outside and because we did not bring any kind of cold weather outfits, I called to order 2 robes to our room so we could at least go outside for a bit. 2 HOURS WE WAITED! Still no robes to this day! I believe that the staff talks to one another about who tips good and who doesn't and gang up against the people who don't. I don't like to admit I am in that category, but when I pay almost $3,000 for ALL-INCLUSIVE, I want it to be all- inclusive!! I don't want to tip the man who drove us on the golf cart for 2 minutes to our room after we waited 5-10 minutes for a ride $10 sorry! Everyone expected a tip and if they didn't get one, they got rude and snooty! One guy even told us in Mexico everyone gets a tip and reached his hand out for money! Used to they would love you if you tipped and be completely grateful! Would not go back! I would although recommend Secret Silversands, Riviera Maya! That was great! It is Adults Only and has a far beyond great staff and hotel. I do not know why Trip Advisor.com rates the Iberstar Grand Pariosa the #1 All-Inclusive in the world. Not even close! Hotel and Beach were beautiful! Staff & Service was beyond horrible! Entertainment was fun but not very good either!
