Location
Situated on the long, golden beach of Costa Dorada, this hotel is located a convenient five minute drive from Puerto Plata and three minutes from Playa Dorada.
Rooms
This elegant, spacious, colonial-style complex contains 498 guestrooms and 18 junior suites located in nine three-story buildings. All guestrooms feature an original Caribbean design with pool or sea views. Each room is equipped with modern amenities.
Restaurant
The open-plan layout of the lobby allows for seating areas and a bar, serving the finest liquors as well as tasty tropical drinks. There is a main restaurant offering a buffet and featuring an open kitchen, chefs-on-display centrepiece. The resort boasts three other specialty restaurants, including one adjacent to the beach, and four bars are situated throughout the complex.
General
Guests will have no shortage of things to do with the resort's fully equipped gym and spa, shops, boutiques and nightclub. There is also a pool area with a terrace and separate children's pool, surrounded by expansive tropical gardens. The complete Spa offers guests the chance to indulge in a variety of massages and beauty treatments for both the face and body. "El Spa" has a Turkish bath and also offers a hair stylist and manicure and pedicure services.

The Costa Dorada Hotel is a little older but dont let this fool you. The Hotel is well maintained and in an outstanding location. The hotel amenities from the rooms to the restaurants are outstanding. Go for the $20 per night unadvertised upgrade for the beach front rooms. You have to wait until check in to go for this or the Jr Suite option which is $40 per night. The maid service is outstanding rooms were very clean and fridge stocked constantly. The food is way good it is in the outstanding range as far as taste and quality. Dont miss the Lobster with Paella on the beach for lunch (Tues and Sat) and the labster at dinner on thursday. I have spent time in Hotels in Playa Dorada and Punta Can...This place rivals and in someways bests the Barcelo, Bavaro Place Deluxe. The only ding I can give it is the beds are a bit hard

The hotel was in a good location. The club Pure (casino is next to Pure) was where it was at and is walking distance from the hotel. The staff was awesome and everyone around the hotel was just as helpful. The resort is very strict on guest. The food during the week is TERRIBLE, but on the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) is not as terrible. Also, this hotel is a family hotel so for a single guy I would check alternatives. There is no free internet and the phones in the room work when they want.

After staying at several Iberostar resorts in the past, I was very surprised at this resort. The room was old and outdated and I saw a roach in the room on 3 separate occasions. The food at the resort also was very subpar. Nothing special an on several occasion I just opted not to finish my dinner away. The best meals were generally breakfast however it boggle my mind how you can surve your guest stale bakery items. Needless to say I will not be staying at this location again.

Friendly staff. Good food. Very nice beach and pool area. Clean room. Great shows in the theater every night. I will return to Iberostar Costa Dorada.

I was extremely happy with the overall experience. Everyone from the people at reception to the groundsmen were wonderful. The restaurant staff were very friendly especially at El Mercado. The entertainment staff was great. Really loved Broadway Cafe and Las Vegas nights. My only drawback with the trip was that I wanted to experience more of the everyday life of the people but the trip was too short and the tour didnt really do that. The good thing is that I made friends so on my next visit I should be able to. I met many returning guests also. Definitely will go back.
