IL Castello Hotel L’Aquila Guest Reviews
They did a good job of refurbishing this hotel after the 2009 earthquake. The rooms are somewhat larger than those in many of the big cities. The location is on a piazza with a picturesque fountain. Once you walk a few blocks away into the old section of the city, however; you see buildings that are still rendered unserviceable from the earthquake. There are many streets that look deserted; but with a little walking you can find a restored shop or eating place. Only downside to the hotel was the desk clerks -- most of whom spoke little English. You'll need a car to get around the area; and the hotel has about 8 reserved parking slots. We never had to resort to the paid garage, since the hotel was not fully booked.

Our stay at the hotel couldn't be faulted. It wasn't the easiest to find by road however so some detailed directions on the website would be helpful.

great choice, nicely located for everything , met by a very nice receptionist and paid a very good price ,and yes I will be returning in the not too distant future, if only the Italians could make a decent cup of tea , would be on the down side , but hey , when in Rome !!!!!

the hotel was very clean and in an excellent location in central L'Aquila, the breakfast was basic, but still very nice.
