we received exactly what we had booked. A high room on the 37th floor with great ocean views. Upside, views, large room with modern amenities ( not so common in Waikiki) Downside. The lifts are too few for a hotel this size causing us to frequently wait around. The beach facilities are disgusting and unusable therefor you have to change in the hotel, cross a busy road and return to the hotel wet.

We were in the older tower - a bit worn down but still good. You have to carry your rather heavy beach chair, available at the pool, across the road to the beach - thats a -tive. But the staff at the pool and house keeping were super good to us. The breakfast closes right on time and restocking stops half an hour before closing, so if you want well stocked buffet, go at least 45 mins before closing.

Was greeted by the nicest staff, once she found out it had been 25 years since my last visit and that my wife had never been to Oahu before she upgraded our room to ocean view and came from around the desk to greet us with gifts. The hotel was clean, finest restaurants were inside, the Shor was delicious. Breakfast buffet was expensive but worth the price, seeing the sun rise over diamond head and the palms blowing in the ocean breeze. Hotel resort fees included phone calls to the mainland or international calls, two bottles of water, use of the room safe and gym. The concierge service was top notch, the pool and hot tub were very nice, towels for the pool and the beach were given at request. My wife and I are going back and we will stay here again, it's centrally located, shopping is all high end name brands, restaurants are expensive but the food and views are top notch and flavors to die for, staff were there when you need them and out of sight and out of your way when you did not want them around...peace and quiet etc. Can't wait to go back.

Our experience was wonderful at this hotel. It is a mall and hotel all in one. Staff was friendly and helpful. I appreciated the many entrances on all side of the hotel. No matter which way you were coming from, you could access the hotel. Restaurants in hotel were a little overpriced, so we chose to walk to nearby restaurants like Cheeseburger in Paradise for a cheap breakfast special. You are literally right across the street from Waikiki Beach which has a nice man-made cove for swimming. There is tons of shops and malls nearby as well. Plan on doing a lot of walking. The rooms are very spacious. Bathrooms need a bit of updating. But the rest of the room was renovated and modern.

great location and amenities. but swimming pool was little too small and some of our guests rooms were right next to the elevator. Be careful when you check-in. The room right next to the elevator. It sounded like you're inside the helicopter in the mid of night.

The hotel was great in every aspect, so glad I chose it for our trip. The location couldn't have been better, everything was within walkable distance, and it's right across from the beach. Nothing beats that-especially with an ocean view room! The staff was friendly. Just one problem, more than half of the staff was on strike while we were there, so it was noisy and inconvenient to get around the hotel entrance. During our stay, the room didn't get clean as often as expected either, the price should've been discounted for us. If we were traveling at a different time, I'm sure we wouldn't have much to complain about.

Great Hotel, just about all staff we met were very helpful and friendly. We stay in an Deluxe Ocean King room which had wonderful view of the diamond head and the beach. We were on the 25th floor. Breakfast is great and differently recommend, however can get quite busy between 8-9 am. Great spot, across the road from the beach and shops, dinning and anything else you could ever need just down stairs.

We had a mishap with the toilet and notified the desk immediately. The response time was fast, professional and effective. could not ask for anything better. The hotel itself is immaculately clean including the CARPETS. THE SERVICE OVERALL IS OUTSTANDING AT THIS HOTEL. Our daughter stayed at the Marriott - IHILANI RESORT and beautiful it was, however OVERALL OUR HOTEL (HYATT REGENCY) still stand out as first in my book. We do believe the parking fees are too expensive. It does seem like fees are so: TO DISCOURAGE USE OF RENTAL VEHICLES. The reality is that if our SON had not been in the area we would not have gotten to see the beauty the ISLAND has to offer.

Hawaii… Waikiki Beach… Sun, Surf & Miai Tais .. Just what you want a vacation to be about…. BUT, I do have a couple complaints I'd like to share….. I made the reservations to stay at the Hyatt Spa & Resort and booked a room with a king size bed. When we arrived the reservation clerk tried hard to upgrade us to a room with an Ocean view for a fee. I declined that offer and they upgraded us to a room with a "Peek" of the ocean for free. We also were not told at any time that the pool in this hotel was under construction. Not until we got to our room did we find out the pool was "Unfortunately" under construction via a little flyer in the key envelope. We got to our room with a "Peek" of the ocean but we also found out we had a DIRECT view of the pool "Unfortunately" under construction, along with the noise. We also found out that our room had 2 regular sized beds instead of the KING we wanted so we spent the entire time sleeping in separate beds. (Not what I had in mind for this vacation!) It was several days into our stay before we were told by one of the servers that we could use the pool at the Marriott down the street. I didn't want to walk to the Marriott, maybe I should have stayed at the Marriott. Next the sun lounge was walled off with plywood which stopped the breeze from entering which made things quit hot in this area.. ( I know this because I was repeatedly told how hot it was…) Next we were not told we could get towels and chairs for the beach from the motel. We went out and purchased these. We left the chairs with a young military couple who where very pleased to get them… We had plumbing problems with the room shower. Every time we took a shower we had ankle deep water. (We stayed in room 755 so you can have maintenance take care of this problem). Also on our arrival we had only one set of towels and had to call room service for additional sets. Another problem, not the fault of the hotel, the sidewalk outside the property was under construction and caused an additional discomfort getting around. Now something good to say about the hotel… the staff… those who we had direct contact with, reservation clerks, room service, valets and wait staff could not have been nicer and very professional. I had booked us to have flower leis delivered at our arrival. Wanted to make it special for my wife. No Leis. We had had several email conversations with the supplier before our arrival so I expected this to be available. They knew what flight we were on as we confirmed this with them in our conversations. I was very disappointed. I did call and discussed this problem to the supervisor who was not very corrigible. But to their credit there was a sweet lady waiting for us on our departure with the Leis but this is not what I had planned. This was my 60th birthday vacation which was to be a time to remember… to be perfectly honest I would not have booked this hotel if I had known they were under construction. Respectfully, Bill

We were there for pleasure vacation. The swimming pool was on re-construction and we did not know anything about it when I booked my trip [...]I was very disappointed [...] The Hyatt Regency Hotel did not fix my room on August 2, and when we get backed to room it was still not made, and I called for housekeeping and we waited for about an hour outside our room. They apologized and gave us complimentary to make up for it. The hotel has roaches crawling in the lobby and our room. It was very unpleasant to see those bugs crawling around the hotel, specially in our room. One of the phone wasn't working, and the fridge is not big enough for our drinks and left over foods. The air condition is facing direct to our bed, and we can not adjust the air flow direction, and it's just very uncomfortable.

Nothing but good things to say! The location of this hotel is the best! Right on the beach and close to a ton of restarants and bars. The staff was excellent, very friendly and professional. Our room was up to date and clean. We were on the 24th floor 'Mountain view' but we could still see the ocean. The patio area was comfortable and we sat out there and enjoyed the breeze almost every night.

The hotel was beautiful but we did not get the rooms we requested through [...]. We requested two rooms on the same reservation that were next to each other and when we arrived they were going to place us on separate wings of the hotel. After much insistence we were able to get our rooms several doors from each other. Also, my sisters room had two double beds and was suppose to have a queen or king. [...]...Be very specific on what you want and call the hotel ahead of time to verify your accommodations.

From the start we were very happy with our stay at the Hyatt. We called ahead and even though we had paid for a city view we requested a ocean view. Caroline at the front desk was wonderful and we did get our ocean view. We would definately stay here again. Try the pineapple tea at the front desk in the afternoons, delish!
