Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa At Gainey Ranch Guest Reviews
Excellent resort for family and business. Great location and less than 30 minutes from the airport. Hotel can arrange for day trips.

my husband and I wanted a get away for a few days, way from the north east and the rain. Unfortunately, the weather in AZ was cold, there was some sun. There was not a lot to do for us. The computer charge seemed strange, usually the use has been free at other hotels. Handicapped parking was quite far from the building. Room was fine. Hotel very nice, clean.

When we first checked in at the hotel they told us our room wouldn't be ready for a few hours but they gave us a voucher for 30% off a meal at their restaurant while we waited. However, by the time we walked over to the concierge, they had already called us and let us know the room was ready. Then they gave us our free check in margaritas! Yummy! The first room we received was a room overlooking a roof with solar panels which was very disappointing. So we went back downstairs and the manager gave us a new room overlooking the "lake" which is an average view, the lake in man-made, but we learned the benefit overlooking the "lake" when the nightly weekend gondola rides began on the lake and the gondelier sings opera. It was wonderful listening to lovely sound each night. The room was very nice. Bed was comfortable and it had a decent size balcony with a screen door that allowed the fresh air into the room. There was a flat screen tv, cordless phone, and with our $20 a night "resort fee" we got to enjoy free wireless. The bathroom was also very modern and nice. My only complaint about the room is that while clean at first glance, there were food stains on the wall, the comforter had stains on it, the bathroom corners weren't that clean, etc. It was a shame for such a nice hotel. Other than that, I really have no complaints. With the resort fee we got access to the tennis courts for free which were REALLY nice. They gave us towels and water, we rented rackets and balls, and it was really fun. There was a pro who runs the courts/academy "Rafael" - he was great, and would give you tips and you can purchase a lesson too. On the lake, at night, as mentioned before you can take a candlelit gondola ride with the opera singing and all... it was really nice. We made the mistake of paying the $10 per person but if you eat at the hotel restaurant Alto, they give you a ride for free. The hotels has tons of pools - some heated more than others. It has a swim up pool bar with TVs, they have cabanas that you can reserve, and they have a beach/pool. The BEST part of the hotel was the open-air lobby which leads to the patio complete with firepits and fountains. Every night on the weekend they had a live band and everyone from the resorts sits on the couches and chairs and listens to the music. It was WONDERFUL. All in all I would stay at the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale again. They have special villas you can rent along the lake with 2 bedrooms and a fireplace - they looked really nice. I would suggest that for anyone who is traveling with a family or another couple. Again, wonderful vacation.

I would come here again with friends, my husband, or even my family (kids too!). The hotel offers a variety of activities for kids and adults. Such a great experience.
