We stayed at the Hyatt for 5 nights. Overall our stay was pleasant, though we did encounter some problems on day one. Pros: Clean hotel, clean rooms and bathrooms. Friendly and efficient staff. Plenty of activities for the family at the pool and on the beach. We got an oceanview room facing east, so were able to enjoy watching the sunrise every morning. The beach is close and kept very clean. Every morning seaweed and other debris is swept and removed. Also since the hotel is at the end of the hotel zone, it is pretty secluded and safe. Cons: Management is unfriendly. Not very helpful. Construction is quite poor. The caulking on the balcony wall in our room was all but gone. The first night of our stay there was a bad thunderstorm. Water leaked in through the balcony door and flooded the room. The staff had to use about 100 towels to clean the room. The management refused to allow us to change rooms. So we had to sleep the entire night with towels on the floor. Every night after that, there was a weird humming noise in the room, like a vacuum being run. Again this was from the air and wind blowing in through the leaks and gaps in the balcony glass door. At this pont we were too tired arguing with the management . We slept all 5 nights with the door wide open and the a/c running full blast. The restaurants don't have a lot of food choices. We were quite disappointed with the menu selection, especially with vegetarian items. Even the drinks selection is quite limited. This is not an all-inclusive hotel and the food prices are quite high which can lighten your wallet quite a bit. If you are travelling with family and plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel, it may be wiser to avoid staying at the Hyatt.

Hotel overall is average, no frills, no Jacuzzi and minimal amenities. Would be great if they step up and offer free wi-fi to guests - otherwise you pay $15.USD per day....they do however give you free water bottles.... Location is super, grand beach but for food you need to go off property as the options are very limited....the one coffee shop/ice cream parlor/bakery has super slow staff that seems confused and the products are not that fresh in the bakery (my experience) - staff was kind and had a good promo to keep you spending on property - Spend $100. USD they will match it up to $250. USD so basically like 50% off....but you don't get change back for unused monies....I would say it's a 3 star yet the price is a 4-5 star....

It's hard to be objective when you travel. I mean, as we drive to the airport, everyone picked up said they're hotel was the best. For one, you want to believe that. Who wants to say they booked a horrible hotel, plus you don't get to compare your hotel to others... That being said, here's my subjective take. A traveler with parents, and two children age 10 & 16. Overall rating - **** (4) Beach - ***** (5) Family friendly - ***** (5) Party friendly - *** (3) Food - **** (4)

The hotel has a beautiful sandy beach to walk and there is always a refreshing breeze. People were friendly even though some did not speak a lot of English. Our room was quiet with convenient access to outside. We were able to walk to shopping areas and restaurants. The hotel has a delicious buffet and planned activities for everyone's enjoyment! We would be happy to come again.
