Hyatt Place Austin North Central Hotel Guest Reviews
Hotel was wonderful. Close to I35 but not right on the highway... so, you don't have traffic noise. Only 10-15 minutes from downtown Austin. We enjoyed our stay.

Great location for access to downtown activities. Rooms were spacious and clean. We had a problem with the air conditioning, but it was fixed within 15 min.

We flew into Austin to attend a wedding and pre-booked 3 nights here[...] GETTING THERE: The hotel was tricky to find. I'd recommend using GPS. Google maps decided that the hotel's address 7522 N IH 35 was really 7522 S 1st St which we discovered is on the opposite side of town. Also, if you use 411 to try to call the Hyatt for directions, you'll be directed to Riverside exit downtown to a different Hyatt. Finally, be aware that there another Hyatt called the Hyatt Express which is a few minutes up the hwy from the Hyatt Place.LOCATION: When we did finally reach our hotel, it became quite apparent that there are literally dozens of hotels nearby in a typical suburban sprawl. There is nothing special about this location except its proximity to the highway. FOOD: Nearby you'll find a generic Applebee's, a greasy Sports Bar that specializes in hot wings and a mysterious bar/grill that we never did see open during our stay.CLEANLINESS & SERVICE: Once we were back from the wedding and starting to settle into the room, we found that the floors had unexplained wet spots and found several specimens of hair already tucked in our sheets and under our pillows. The galley host offered to exchange our room, so we packed everything up at 2 am and moved to a new room. We did get a comp'd late night snack from the 24 hour kitchen for the hassle. Our second room was thankfully clean and room was very comfortable. The TV service has something left to be desired, but on the bright side, there is a pool just outside and it gave us a very much needed break from the 90+ night-time temperatures in Austin.SUMMARY: Once you know how to find the place, you'll learn it conveniently close to the I-35 which aids in driving to a decent place to eat. The rooms can be clean but be sure to inspect your sheets first. There are many hotels and motels in the area however, and the Hyatt Place is probably on the pricey side.

We stayed at this Hyatt Place for 2 nights. The room we stayed in had a very comfortable and the room was well designed. Overall, the location was quite close to all the downtown happenings.
