Our trip to this hotel was short and simple...until we got the additional parking charges of $54 for one night! There was no notification of additional charges, or any suggestion of parking charges on their website at the time of booking, it was simply put on our credit card and billed to us after our stay. Hidden fees are not acceptible. I will never stay at a Wyndam Hotel again.

The hotel is in a perfect location to walk to anywhere you need to go along Michigan Ave, Millenium Park, or the Navy Pier. The parking is pricey, but it is anywhere downtown!

Overall, very nice hotel. Unfortunately, we had a room right by the elevators and they made this loud clicking sound which was annoying. Bar was OK. Our waitress was a little gruff and they were out of mint. Not good since a number of their drinks contained mint!! Couldn't beat the price and I would stay there again for the same price.

The room was cold and we could not warm it up despite a visit from maintenance. The thermostat said it could reach 76 degrees but it didn't get higher than 72 degrees. The hot tub and pool are connected by a strip of metal. When the large group of kids canyon ball jumped in the pool, all the cold water splashed into the hot tub. The pool area was out of towels. The TV's are outdated and there are no movie channels included. Internet service is 35 cents per minute. Despite a great location and comfortable beds, I would not recommend the hotel.

Pros: The location of this hotel is good and the bed is comfortable. Cons: The room was cold and the temperature would not reach higher than 72 degrees even though maintenance was called. The hot tub and pool was filled with loud children doing canyon balls in the water. The water from the pool splashed into the hot tub since they are attached. The dated television (not flat screen) does not have any movie channels. The computer use fee is 35 cents/minute.

I wanted a relaxing overnight stay for an early morning appointment nearby. This hotel made me feel welcome and comfortable and the price was very affordable for the location. Within easy distance to public transportation and the staff was very helpful.

The location was perfect, just a block away from the magnificent mile. The room was clean and the bed was cozy. They also have a resturant and bar in the building

I got a room for a place to stay to have a girls night downtown. We arrived later than expected and the staff was wonderful, room was beautiful and loved the down blankets. The only down side was the lack of snack vending machines for our late night snacking. Definitely recommend for family vacation or even an overnight stay in the city. Very much worth the price and then some.

Beautiful hotel in one of the best locations in the city. Walking distance to everything. The staff was very friendly, the front desk was over accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel for a great time in Chicago.

We stayed only two nights over Thanksgiving in this centrally located hotel. The location was perfect for our needs -- close to family and transportation. The room was a fine, generic hotel room. It was indistinguishable from any other good hotel room except in one, trivial way. The bathroom sink was both three or four inches higher than usual and the faucet was set further back from the edge of the sink. This would have been ideal if I were very tall. I am very short and found the sink a bit of a nuisance. However, we got the room for a fantastically low price and aren't really in any position to complain. At the same price, I'd gladly stay there again.

The pool was very small, but luckily there weren't many people there. Not a big selection on the restaurant menu, but we ordered room service, and the food was very good.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is an older one and this shows in some of the areas. The room was clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. Location is good. You are very close to shops and restaurants on Michigan Avenue.

Very good hotel with corresponding price. I booked it with Sunday stay discount. For this level hotel is missing better TV, a face mirror in bathroom, my room was little dark. Internet was too slow, business centre closed too early. Little things you overlook when you pay price as I did, however without discount I would think twice to book this hotel. It needs some work.

The Wyndham's location can't be beat, one block off Michigan Avenue in the heart of everything. The hotel's entrance, lobby, restaurant/bar, and our room were all nicely appointed and in good shape. However, when we got off the elevator on the 5th floor the carpet looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in years. There were stains everywhere and besides being dirty it was well worn. I do not expect that lack of upkeep in a 4 star hotel where we spent over $300/night for a small room with a king bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having stayed at other hotels in the immediate area, the Affinia and the Avenue, the Wyndham was a big step down because of the hallway. I will not stay here again until I can verify that the carpet has been changed. Frequent Chicago visitor from Nevada.
