Front desk was rude and difficult on check in. Seriously influenced my perception of this hotel. Average breakfast facilities in adjacent restaurant. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Gym was small and stuffy - decent equipment, but limited range. Was no where near the standard that I would have anticipated from the equivalent chain in Australia.

We enjoyed our stay. We were close to everthing. We walked every where. It was a small hotel only 3 floors. Room was clean.....comfortable.....staff was friendly....restaurant on site.

Welcoming efficient staff, clean updated room includes wifi and iPod docking station. One block to the wharf and a short taxi ride to financial district and union square. Walk to little Italy and China town. For location and price compared to many other higher priced properties you get a great value. Our room rate included a $150 credit to spend @ property, covered valet and a couple of drinks which otherwise would end up on your closing bill. This was our second stay and will stay again next time in the City by the Bay.

This hotel is the first Hyatt to truly impress me with 24hr great service by staff and amazing room service food. However, my room faced the courtyard which is undergoing heavy remodeling and the morning construction noise was nonstop. Luckily, I always travel with earplugs but that was an inconvenience. I was already settled into my room and didn't feel like moving or complaining since it was a good price and SF was almost sold out at the time, but usually a hotel will warn you about construction/noise, or they should have put me in a room not facing the courtyard, wondering if they did that because I got the room on a special that disappeared very quickly. Location to Wharf/Alcatraz is great. about a $10-15 cabride to Union square, castro. They kept pushing local transit on me but I am not that kind of girl. Compared to regular street noise in Union square hotels, this was tolerable and beds are very comfortable, bathroom and room modern and clean.

The hotel lobby is very nice and breakfast at the hotel restaruant (Knuckles ?) was absolutely fabulous. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The room and pool area were nice, but not great - they seemed a little old/worn. Overall, we enjoyed our stay; we just weren't overwhelmed with excitement by the hotel or the rooms. If you want to be close to FIsherman's Wharf, it is a good place to stay.

I don't usually get excited about a hotel, but the staff was amazing, the nicest I have found in years. I loved it.

Very close to the "action" of Fisherman's Wharf. Was happy with the room (especially the bed - very comfortable) but was disappointed that there wasn't a little fridge to put drinks etc in etc. Staff were very helpful and our room was very quiet - yes you do have to walk miles - but who wants to be near an elevator when you want to sleep!

room was outstanding. really clean and the location was great. the only problem was the cost for valet parking. The cost to valet park is 50 a day the problem is that you need to valet park due to the location. You can park it yourself if you want to walk back to the room a few blocks and don't mind the rain.

We were delayed in our travel to the hotel by one day due to an Amtrak train cancellation. We notified the hotel about the delay and they saved the hotel room for us when we arrived ealy next morning. They could have pocketed our nonreturnable prepayment and given the room to someone else, so we are grateful to them for that.

The Hyatt is in a great location, just a few blocks to the Wharf, cable cars and trains. Easy access to pier 49. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were clean and quiet. We had a great stay.

Location excellent and hotel service and staff very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable rooms and clean. Only issue is price on phone long distance calls at about $10 minute so use phone . When mentioned at check out the staff gave us credit on a couple of calls to adjust price down. Very enjoyable stay!

location is good but a bit overpriced comparing with nearby hotels which are even closer to the piers. The decoration is a bit out-dated and cold. Expect a bath tub for a 4 star hotel but only shower is available. Staff are nice and helpful.
