It is over an hour from Kandy to get there, but well worth it when you arrive. The scenery is magnificent. The grounds include a lake at the top of the waterfall, with forest walks, and birds aplenty. We sat at breakfast watching a fish eagle hint, and monkeys climbing in the trees. The food is great, and well priced. The staff are very friendly. All in all, tremendous. My only niggle is that the bedroom had only one power point, already connected to tv, fridge, lamp, so it was hard to connect the laptop and mobile - excellent mobile signal, by the way!

The Hunas Falls hotel is about one hour out of Kandy at the end of a winding road up into the hills. This secluded location is a great escape and highly recommended, particularly if you enjoy walking. The hotel offers guided walks ranging from one hour to three days. The hotel was perfectly comfortable, the facilities very good and the staff friendly. The choice of activities includes croquet, mini golf, cycling, boating on a lake, swimming and hiking.

Very good and friendly. If anything, the restaurant serving staff were too attentive - asked too many times if we wanted anything/if everything was alright. After refurbishment, the room was very good. Only thing is that they skimped on the toilet seat, a nasty, flimsy cheap bit of plastic. A solid wooden seat with brass fastenings would have been more in keeping. Also a warning about leeches in the forest would have been helpful - we went for a walk, got back to the room and on taking off my trousers found 4 deeply embedded on my skin.
