Howard Johnson North Burnabys Boutique Hotel Guest Reviews
I've never stayed at HoJo, with its reputation, I had low expectations. If I was going to be impressed it would be through their service. There is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up the two flights of steep stairs. I thought it was a good work out. (ha ha ha) The staff definitely did their best to be helpful and professional. The night staff member that checked me in majorly overcharged me. Good thing I caught it, and when I brought it to their attention the manager was definitely helpful and knowledgeable. She managed to fixed the problem. The room had a close resemblance to a dorm room. Their was a refrigerator, and very good after market heater to keep the room the right climate. Plus, there was a microwave for convenience. The tv was lacking channels, but I felt I couldn't complain since the deal was so good. The boutique only accommodates queen size beds. It would have been nice if they something for me to dock my iTouch or iPhone. The restroom was acceptable. The towel rack was falling off the wall. It had a lot of hooks for towels, and cute little portable furnace for the restroom. What was irritating was the shower curtain hooks. They kept falling off, and putting them back felt unsafe. Overall, since it was such a good deal and HoJo isn't exactly known for 5 star accommodations I had very low expectations as I said. The friendly , service and staff did make the stay comfortable.

We had a pleasant experience at the Howard Johnson Burnaby Boutique Hotel in Vancouver, BC. The hotel has updated furnishings with nice beds and clean rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful although in the mornings the front desk person is away from the desk a lot. The continental breakfast is an excellent bonus!! We were able to make sandwiches to take with us for lunch and some fruit. They had a nice high chair for our 1 year old to use. We enjoyed having a microwave and refrigerator in the room as we had brought some food with us to try to stay on a budget. Only one of the dual shower head worked, and we had to shut the entry door, as it would not shut on its own. The bathroom door would not stay open unless propped open. The dresser was nice. There are steps that must be taken to get up to the rooms. I liked the place. I would have liked it to be closer to downtown area and attractions, but we had a rental car and were able to get where we wanted to go. We enjoyed the multiple playgrounds at Stanley park for our 3 year old, and we visited Granville Island briefly. We got to the kid's market right around closing time. I would like to go back and visit the public market
