It was nice actually, but the street was too dark and nothing around

I was in town on a 20 hour layover between flights. I just wanted a clean place to sleep with free airport shuttle. On that basis this hotel delivered. Nothing special but not horrible. Updated rooms and flat screen tv was nice.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful, letting us into the room before check-in time and giving us free toiletries that my wife had forgotten. Room was spacious and pleasant, with comfortable beds and a full-size ironing board and iron in the room. The location was very convenient, just a couple miles off JFK (main road into airport) and easy access.

The hotel room is very clean, the bed is extremely comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. I would like to stay here again once I have another chance to get back in Houston. Thank you Howard Johnson for making me feel at home in Houston, TX.
