This place was ok. The place was old and needed updating. The bed was good, I slept good but the tenant upstairs woke me at 3am in the morning. I think they lived there. And this was both night I stayed there. I did not complain to management. I just won't stay there again.

The hotel was near plenty of shops and restaurants, but in a slightly run down part of town. I was fine with this: I'm a student on a budget. What wasn' t ok was our actual stay. They gave us the worst room in the hotel (a family member booked directly with the hotel and had a much nicer hotel, and we saw into other rooms and they were much nicer than ours). The walls were cracking, there were stains all over the rugs and furniture and it smelled horrible. Moreover, it took the staff forever to actually clean our room. They didn't come by till about 5 or 6PM to clean the room, at which point, we were back in the room, and didn't want to be disturbed. The one time we were out, and they cleaned the room, they gave us dirty towels. Additionally, the hotel lists that they have complementary internet, and they do...except it doesn't reach your room, so you can only really use it in the lobby area. Finally their continental breakfast (which, granted, they didn't advertise having) was silly. The toaster was broken (you had to hold it down in order to toast) and there were limited options, though I do appreciate not having to pay for breakfast. In all, if you don't mind a sub par hotel, and you're on a budget and you have plenty a patience, this place is worth it. It was dirt cheap. But, if you want even an iota of a nice place, stay far away.

Really enjoyed the stay at this Howard Johnston Express The hospitality of the Night time clerk that day was exceptional and he provided the best customer service to myself and guest. The hotel is basic as far as Amenities, however the room was exceptionally clean, clean towels, and the water was hot :) The location is fantastic if your planning a trip to Knotts. Disneyland, or a day at the beach.

This was a horrible hotel and location. I didn't feel safe at all. Luckily we only stayed for 2 nights. The room matched the outside--> awful! The carpet felt slimy. The bathroom was gross! One of the facet didn't have a hot handle. We left really early on sun and there was a human rat at the garbage collecting who knows what. I would never go there again.

This is an convenient location to reach Disney Land, the Little Saigon, the Beach, highway, freeway,John Wayne Airport,... I like the ice machine. The rug should be replaced.
