Hotel Tomo, a Joie de Vivre Hotel
5 out of 5

I rate this property 5 Star across the board relative to the unbeatable price/value ratio it offers. No, its not the Ritz Carlton or Mandarin Oriental, lol, but its not $500+ per night either. The staff (Steve & Jill) and the housekeepers could succeed at ant luxury property with the obvious professionalism and personalities they exhibited during our four day stay. Kid friendly although we never saw kids there. The property is older but very well maintained, and recently was obtained by the highly rated Joie de Vivre Company so look for even better experinces soon. Being in the industry as well, we can say with world hospitality experience that we definitely got what we paid for here.

I really liked this hotel. The room was lovely and large and there was a window with a window seat! I felt the housekeeping was a little sloppy ( there were some stains inside the bedspread), but they seemed very anxious to correct their problems. The staff at the desk was helpful, though lacking in the finesse i am used to in some hotels. But the room and it's setup, including a safe in the closet, was very good.

This is so lovely hotel i would recommend and would definitely stay again. Feeling in the room is like to be in appartment. It is not a fancy hotel, but very pretty. Very clean, nice personnel, in a nice neighbourhood. Ipod dock in the room plus many comfortable opportunities to sit (in the room as well). Nice place to work also. My favourite hotel so far!

Nice, modern hotel, cool atr work painted onto the walls. Japantown is a bit far out of the main city and tourist areas but worth a visit and it's on main bus route and walking distance (about 25 mins) from union square. We added another night onto our 2 night stay and the lady didn't update our room cards properly so they stopped working - when we went to the desk there was no appology and was a little disappointed by the general attitude of the desk staff.

Best Western Miyako Inn San Francisco's restaurant was under new management and renovation. We know that the restaurant will be excellent. We will stay at this hotel again. Takayuki Seo
