Hotel Sunlite Shinjuku Tokyo
4 out of 5

This hotel is good value for money in Tokyo. it's a few minutes walk from shops and the metro and takes about 10 minutes to walk to Shinjuku Station. The room is clean, it has a kettle, mini fridge, hair dryer, TV that you buy a viewing card for, vending machines for drinks on 3 floors. The staff are polite and speak okay English at the reception desk. There is free wi-fi internet access available in the lounge. You can get inside the hotel 24 hours. They serve meals at pretty good prices, I didn't try it but might be worth it for breakfast as Tokyo can be expensive.

Convenient location right next to Shinjuku-sanchome station, and not too far from Shinjuku station. Room was fine, kind of worn/dated, but ok. Good (wired) internet connection in room. Staff was friendly and spoke enough English to make for an easy check in and out. I was in the annex with a room facing the alley/street between the main hotel and the annex and street noise was not a problem. Good location for the price.

I've stayed a number of times and it's always good value. This time I stayed in a room with semi double bed big enough for 2 people. It was also very quiet. This was in the building next to the main hotel entrance. I'd definitely stay here again.

Ask for a room away from traffic noise. It's a very standard (small) size room, typical of budget rooms in Tokyo.

A no-frills hotel 5 mins from the Kabouchico district where all the lights and shops and restaurants are located. The hotel itself isn't glamourous at all. It's clean and relatively ok priced for the area. I didn't like the smell of smoke in the hallways. They do provide a laundry machine free of charge which is good if you can reserve it. Concierge doesn't speak English very well.

Non smoking room this time in the Annex building. Room was clean, hotel 'Floret' restaurant was ok. Staff held our suitcases until 4pm before we departed. Very helpful, spoke english well. For the price, I'd definitely stay there again if I went back to Tokyo.

Shoebox hotel room with everything you need. Undersheet had some stains but there was another sheet to cover. Western bathroom, lcd tv. We received a smoking room even though we requested a non-smoking - too late and too tired to ask to change. Excellent service. 2am curfew and about 10mins from Shinjuku station. Surrounding streets towards Shinjuku station are all bars/karaoke and girl entertainment. We're going back in 5 days for another 2 nights.

This hotel was located much further from the station than I had expected. The fridge wasn't cold, but otherwise, the service and facilities were fine.

My 14-year daughter and I stayed at semi-double room, with normal double bed, better/wider than it is normally described for other hotels. The hotel provides tooth-brush, sleepers, shower kimono, shampoo, rinse, etc. more than I expected. There is mini-refregirator and water boiler - what else can you expect for a hotel locating close to Shinjuku in Tokyo? Breakfast is basic if you choose Western style. All in all, a very nice and comfortable hotel.

The check-out time was too early, 11.00AM. We have requested for a free 2 hours late check-out but was turned down and was told that we must pay. The room prices we paid were far too expensive as the rooms were very very small compared to my earlier 6 days stays in Hokaido & Narita's Garden Hotel, where the rooms provided are quite large and much cheaper. Anyway we enjoyed our stays in Tokyo. My friends in the same group tours extend their stays at Washington Hotel Shinjuku at only S$150.00/night for twin. It was a very clean Hotels he said, when we met at the Airport to take our flight home.

Good hotel in a good location in Shinjuku. Only downside was that the place gets locked up between 0200 and 0530 which was rather annoying.

Room is small but workable, with everything you may need : table, 2 chairs, clothes hangers, place to park suitcase, bathroom also small but functional even for a tall man, also well equipped with everything, quite amazing how well they use space. The only complain is the double bed is a bit soft, so you tend to slide to the middle of the bed..

Wonderous, all the staff very super helpful, most had decent English, not a complaint to be had. Really handy for Shinjuku as well, perfect for train connections at Shinjuku station, but more importantly close to all the wacky action going on around the Shinjuku area.

Small rooms, but clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Ideal locatiion. 5 minutes walk from Shinjuku Sanchome station and Kabukicho, 12 minutes from Shinjuku station. Competitive prices for this part of town. Highly recommended.

This Sunlite Hotel is basic, clean and efficient, and within walking distance of JR Shinjuku Station (east exit), although I found my room very cramped, even by the normal standards of Tokyo business hotels. A very basic breakfast was included in the price of the room; it was adequate, but certainly not worth the 1155 yen which guests on a "room only" rate had to pay. Considering its location between the Kabukicho and gay nightlife areas, I feel it is inappropriate that this hotel closes its doors for three hours in the middle of the night. Overall, not recommended.

Close to shopping, public transport and the gay bars if you are up for that. Cheap food in the hotel and the staff are very helpful. The red light district is far enough away to not bother you.

A good and recommendable hotel at a practicle location at a reasonable price. Rooms and bathrooms are practical, for people who are not too tall.
