Good access to Southerncross Station, clean and quiet. VG staff attention and courtesy. Bathroom good, bedroom bit snug -hard to walk around side of bed. Breakfast fresh , plentiful, easy access. Good value for money

First impressions are not good but once you get passed reception rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good, sets you up for day. Location is good near station, but not near the main attractions but transport around Melbourne is good.

A perfect experience as I was tired after a long trip. A very comfy and quiet room.

This hotel was quiet, clean and low key. It was close enough to walk most places and far enough away to be at a comfortable distance from the noise of the nightlife. I stayed in this hotel alone and felt safe and comfortable. The staff were lovely and very obliging.

This hotel is not four star ****. We would not stay there again. The only positive thing about our stay was the location of this hotel. We found the rooms tired, the bathroom huge, without any shelving for toiletries and the foyer area was cramped and small and when we checked in with other guests at the same time there was no room to move. Not four star by Australian standards by any means. The breakfast food was cold and had not been kept heated to correct temperatures. Eve

Overall the hotel was as expected for the money, knew about the $150.00 bond but was not told that it would be taken out of may account not just held by hotel and would have to wait 3-5 days for money to appear back into my account that was $150.00 less that I was able to spend on my last day of shopping in Melbourne

On arrival not very welcoming lady. One of the noisiest hotels externaly, We would only give it a 3star at a push, Would not recomend this hotel to any of our friends & family. Had a cheek to say if we did not leave by 11clock we would be charged extra, yet would not let entry before 2pm. very, very, basic place to stay. never again. Staff need trainning in hospitality, meet & greet. no for us. Compared to our previous trip different hotel this was not a good standard.

During my stay: 1. They were out of parking vouchers for the car-park 2 blocks away 2. The internet was not working - had apparently been out of action for a week 3. There was no hot water in the morning 4. There was noise throughout the night due to the absence of soundproofing The hotel staff were completely indifferent to everything that went wrong. I do not recommend this place.

The price for the room was reasonable but the experience was pleasant. As the hotel room is bit tiny and staff are bit unfriendly. I would not stay there any more. Breakfast is simple and bacon is only offered on Saturday. No meat offered in breakfast. :(

Upon arrival I learned that parking is available at a public carpark a couple of blocks away for a special rate of $20 a day - but that they were out of vouchers. I enquired about internet and was informed that it was not working. The next morning I awoke to the refreshing discovery that no hot water was available. I guess I should be thankful for having slept at all given the lack of sound isolation from one room to the next. Now, I can understand that things can go wrong, however, the icing on this whole unpleasant cake was the attitude of the hotel staff: they were completely unapologetic and it was quite clear that they could not care less about the problems encountered by guests. Steer clear of this place if you have a choice.

I booked the hotel on it's location to my meetings. I was surprised at the primitive building. I am an experienced backpacker over 50 years and this is a backpackers standard hotel. Wafer thin walls, smelly room, no bedside table because the bed was wedged between the walls of the width of the room. The wardrobe was 10 inches wide, no kidding!! But the location was good for me and when you backpack you get used to it, but as a work hotel I was surprised that I had been gullible enough to expect a little more comfort. By the way breakfast is included and was OK.

a bit noise at night. I heard machinery sounds at interval during early hours of the day, quite annoying. I stayed at Level one, near the lift area.

TV & phone did not work & staff offered poor customer service!!! Check-In consisted of "Here's your key, enjoy your stay" Asked for a follow up call from the manager (still yet to recieve) and when I followed them up looking for the manager, was told that she "may" return my call! Whatever happened to an 'enjoyable stay'! Absolute DISGRACE!!!

Everything was good, no complaints at all. We booked a standard room for a bed for the night and was surprised at how good everything was. Hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, plunger coffee, 4 different types of teabags...all good! Breakfast was amazing, even had dinner in the Hotel part..all good! Will definitely be coming back!

Room we were booked into was too small. Had to pay for upgrade. New room was reasonable. Breakfast was included, this was a basic fare but tasted ok. If you only want somewhere to lay your head and don't have much luggage the standard room would be ok. Otherwise book the superior room.

Not a bad position but a bit of a walk to the main shops.Good breakfast Large room, clean, good bathroom. HOWEVER, do not stay here if you want a private conversation in your room as we could hear every word from the room next door which was not good for sleeping when the neighbours came in at midnite and prattled till 2 in the morning- soundproofing definitely required on connecting doors and walls!!

Don't expect someone waiting at the desk when you get there, and don't be surprised when they are unenthusiastic when they arrive. Also, be aware the hotel takes a $150 "bond" from your credit card that they swear was specified on this website but it certainly was not in my recollection. This "bond" takes 3-5 working days to clear from your account. I suggest you question this because they will then send a note to your bank to get it cleared more quickly. Room was small, with paper thin walls - bring earplugs. Bed was very comfortable, but the room was cold, so make sure you use the air con for heating - if you can make the remote work and it's not bearing leaking batteries that the cleaners take away but don't replace. Water pressure was pretty good, and the bathroom was very clean and a good size. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided, but they made sure to not give you more than two of anything, so too bad if you are thirsty. Also, too bad if you don't like espresso coffee bags. Hot breakfast is included, but don't get too excited. This consistented of runny eggs and fake bacon (or some kind of pressed meat). At least we didn't have to pay extra for it. Oh, and more espresso bags... Check out was lacklustre and the staff need a few pointers in customer service, namely a simple smile and less-than-depressed sounding voice. Location was great, very close to Spencer St station, so that was a plus for us. Wouldn't stay there again though.

Frankly was overpriced and over rated. It's an old building with small rooms and winding corridors and is being tarted-up, but is only at the standard of a backpacker. The worst feature was not being able to book-in until 2pm so arriving in Melbourne from Interstate with some business appointments in morning, that was not good! With a pre-paid reservation I do object to them claiming a $150 room security on your Credit Card, so do be careful to check the room condition upon arrival.

Details need updating. Check in now 1400hrs. Car parking $20. Does not look impressive externally but room and staff were very good. Window view nothing but we were there to sleep after dinner and a theatre show not gaze out window. Under $100 a night with cooked breakfast - doubt if could be beaten in Melbourne.
