First off, the staff is amazing. The first worker we dealt with was Daniel at the check in desk. He spent about 10 minutes with us describing (in perfect English) what to do, where to eat, and where to find everything. This was a precursor for the type of service this hotel provides. The bartenders were very accomodating and made strong drinks. Juaquin and the pool crew were fun and energetic, and kept that energy up through the night (they also led trips to the clubs downtown). Even the maid service was excellent. They were available throughout the entire day, sometimes cleaning our room around 6 pm if we shoed them away earlier. The maid even would come up late in the evening to give us extra towels (as we tended to shower a lot). The rooms came with 4 bottles of liquor, a fridge full of dos equis, bottled water, and pop. And the drinks never stopped flowing. I'd recommend this to couples as well as families. The food was good, but I'd say that the best food actually was at the buffet. We ate at two specialty restaurants, and actually enjoyed the buffet and the bar-b-que more than the restaurants. But all in all, a great stay. I'd suggest paying that little extra and getting the full ocean view suites... staying out watching the waves at nice is great when you have a full view. Also, if you enjoy going out to the clubs at night, Coco-Bongo, Daddios, and Sr. Frogs are within a 4 block walk on well-lit streets.

We had a great week. So much food and beverage to choose from. Customer service was supurb from the moment we checked in to dining to bar to being taken care of on the beach. It will be hard pressed to surpass the service. Only thing we did not like was the room always had moisture in the air. Felt like the sheets/pillow were damp and clothes the same. Besides this one thing, every thing else was perfect. We plan on staying at a Riu again.

One of the best resorts I have visited, the service & staff is 5 stars. The only thing to complain about was there was no WIFI or Internet access in the rooms.

Everything was well beyond expectation. We all enjoyed ourselves and was treated like royalty. It was one of our better vacations.
