Bad experience because we had to leave the hotel on the second day because of an emergency, having payed 8 nights. Couldn't change or cancel the rest of the prepaid nights although the concierge told us that they had talk to reservation site to cancell the 5 nights left. Even they asked us to leave the hotel at 1 PM of the third day despite we had already prepayed 8 nights. Terribly disapointed. I'd definetely not be back again there.

Staff sent cheese and crackers to my room to welcome me back even though when I was previously there the hotel was a different brand. And a bottle of champagne on my birthday when I didn't even tell them I was in Honolulu for my birthday! Very little amenities to speak of so price point a bit high. City view oom is elegant but very dark - had to keep blind down as the view looked directly at another building. Feathered comforter very heavy for Hawaii!!!

Staff super friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast more than sufficient. Not the largest room we ever stayed at but good value and clean with wifi thrown in. Don't need more for comfortable accommodation. Will stay there again!

Selected because of location near Honolulu Marathon finish line. But only one block from Waikiki Beach and a couple blocks from the Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani Park. Staff extremely helpful. Room small but very clean and well appointed. Japanese style decor.

Hotel is pretty small compared to aston waikiki and other big hotels, but it looks very modern and the price is really good compared to the others. Staff is friendly and the free continental breakfast is good. Lots of restaurants and shopping along the beach walk which is located right across the street. One bad thing is you have to pay for valet parking which is $25 a night.

So close to being a great hotel, but sadly not there yet. Relatively new, Hotel Renew tries to be a boutique hotel in a 1980's building. The facility itself is a little dated, and is isolated on the far end of Waikiki (which isn't in itself a bad thing). Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, but they don't have the same tools to work with as other places. On the plus side: Location (it's on one side, so crowds aren't as bad), staff (incredibly friendly and helpful), boutique crowd (fewer children, less commercial), free wifi and beach towels, and reasonably sized spaces (rooms are comfortable). On the negative side: Older facility (looks sad from the outside), lack of amenities (business center, health center/gym, hotel bar/restaurant), location (it's a walk to most things). As much as we enjoyed our experience with the people (or lack of tiny people), the facility needs some help. Overall, though, a nice place with great potential.

Honestly, this hotel has the most helpful staff I have ever encountered. They arranged rental car, discount day pass to a nearby gym, and a room to shower in after we had checked out earlier in the morning. The hotel is in walking distance to Sans Souci beach (and many others), Diamond Head crater, shopping, and great restaurants. Don't miss the nightly happy hour in their lounge. We found it to be a great opportunity to get advice for the next day's plans, and they had some of the best drinks we had in the neighborhood.

We spent a wonderful week in the Hotel Renew. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Only the air conditioner is a little bit loud, dont worry if You are a good sleeper. The personnel (reception and valet) was always very friendly and helpful. To Waikiki Beach it is just 100 yards and they supply guests with all the beaching utilities one can think of.

Great small hotel down zoo end of Waikiki. Is ideal for couples & singles. friendly & helpful staff. Is a stand alone hotel ...not part of a chain. A great find.

Staff were very helpful. Location is great, not far from Waikiki beach and you don't hear buskers at night. If you love night life, this is not for you. It''s walking distance to shop and public transport. We were just next door to pick-up location for any tour, which was just great. My only negative comment is: room fridge and iron were not working. They replaced it immediately though but I think it should be checked prior to occupancy. I would stay again.

Honestly, one of the best boutique hotels I've stayed in. Very refreshing to have a hotel like this in Waikiki. It has a totally different feel to any other hotel in the area. The other guests were mostly young, cool couples rather than families which makes it very quiet. Great location, beautiful view from our room. Great service. Worth the extra cost. Highly recommended.

Hotel was excellent and the staff was nice. It was located at a great spot and not to far from everything, in fact we walked to all the places we need to go. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Renew in late March 2009 and were delighted with it. All the positive comments that I had read from previous reviews were accurate especially the friendly, helpful staff, the comfortable accommodation (the bed and bedlinen were to die for!), its excellent location and the complimentary breakfast. It doesn't have a pool but the ocean is only yards away. We can certainly recommend it and if we pass through Honolulu again we will certainly visit.

Excellent staff makes this place shine. Location is excellent close to everything on beach. Hotel tends to be noisy inside and out -- much of it is beyond hotel's control. Overall a very good experience!
