The front desk was very nice and quick. Our room seemed older and was amongst construction but for the most part that wasn't a problem. We had a GREAT view, two windows, a huge bathroom and a lot of space. The only draw back was the pillows (if you an bring your own) and the early construction in the room next to us (which is only the case for a few rooms) overall it was close to a lot of great stuff and way better than I expected from one of Manhattans cheapest hotels

My husband was right with the loud maid service. The mgmt might need to retrain them. Other than that, I will recommend it for ppl who are not expecting Sheraton in Wall Street.

I was there for a night with my wife. Our purpose we to tour just around the area, downtown, uptown and mid town. I tell ya, Hotel Penn was right in the middle! It's right in front of Madison Square Garden, and a heck close to Empire State Building! We r very satisfied for our purpose. The room we lodged in was descent. It was clean, the amenities or utilities worked. The one thing I suggest is the mgmt to get the maid service to be professional. I mean, these individuals talk loudly right in front of guests' rooms that I wonder if they ever realize there could be tired tourists still sleeping at 9am. We wil return for a longer stay.

It took too long to check in and check out. The place is dirty, dingy, rusty tub , towels look not fresh very old, curtains is as old as the hotel, the tub is rusty, and front desk some have bad attitude and not friendly. They need to paint this hotel and get some new towels since they only give a shampoo and a bar of soap. For 182.00 dollars I get complimentary breakfast at clarion park ave for 139.00

If you are looking at just a place to sleep with high accessibility - this is the right place for you. Room looks really tired and small for american standards. Location is fantastic with subways, LIRR around the corner and couple of streets down brings you to the Glitzy Times Square and other neighbouring attractions.
