Hotel Niwa Tokyo
4 out of 5

Hotel was comfortable and very clean. It is close to the subway and the train lines so it is really easy to get around. It is quiet and comfortable. The room is a nice size compared to some places we stayed in Japan.

Thoroughly enjoyed stay at Hotel Niwa. As expected in central Tokyo, the room was on the small side, but within this was provided all that you would want - from a fridge with a daily top-up of mineral water; a desk to work from; double bed; TV; wonderful bathroom. Maybe a little small to lay out a large case - so take a small one if you can. The location was perfect for us- having bought JR Rail pass it meant we could get to the hotel from central Tokyo (and all the main sights) using just JR (Japan Rail) rather than the metro. Hotel was also in walking distance to the war memorial/museum, and a slightly longer walk (25-30mins) to Imperial Palace. Only very minor negative points were the restaurant wasn't cheap (although looked good) - but one block away there are a wide range of restaurants at reasonable prices, and a 24hour shop next door. Also the wifi was painfully slow, but did work (eventually). Would certainly choose to return to Hotel Niwa again if ever in Tokyo.

We stayed for four nights over two dates, and both times the staff were friendly, the room spotless and comfortable. Although, as you'd expect in Tokyo, the room wasn't huge, it was well laid out - with small fridge, shelves, desk and place for small/medium suitcase. Free wifi throughout but not a great connection speed. Location was next door to a convenience store, one block (2 mins walk) from a variety of restaurants, and 5t minutes from a JR rail station. Also walkable to the war memorial/museum, and in the other direction the Imperial gardens. Would head to the Niwa hotel again if in Tokyo.

Only stayed one night but wished it had been longer. The hotel and rooms were beautiful with a Japanese ambience, not as compact as others we'd stayed in. Close to Rail station incl access to airport express link. Walking distance to imperial palace gardens and Tokyo Dome. Convenience store next door and plenty of restaurants on main street around the corner. Relaxation room provided free massage chairs. Free mineral water and ice available.

Reasonable hotel at good location, for good value. The review is concise but too short, so here you are, more xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx
