Hotel Monteleone

You won't find a run of the mill chain with this hotel. Just classic New Orleans, very classy, friendly, and with a unique touch. From the friendly and helpful staff to the joyful atmosphere (thanks to the great bartenders!) at the Carousel Bar, the Monteleone is beloved by locals (like me!) and you'll find no other hotel will simply do after you stay here. Safe, quiet (for the Quarter), yet centrally located for great dining, shopping, and attractions, the Monteleone is simply the best.

I was somewhat disappointed with the room. For the hotel to be classified as a 4 or 5 star hotel, the only special things were the valet, doorman and granite floors and counters in the bathroom. I expected more and was disappointed. I have stayed in other hotels with more amenities that were rated less. Sorry, just not what I call 4/5 star and wouldn't spend that kind of money for that hotel again. I think I could find a better deal with a nicer hotel. Overall, the place is nice, but I just don't think it was worth the added expense. The extra money was for the granite floors and doorman, but had to pay to park so the valet was not necessarily a perk of the hotel.

Great hotel. Rooms are a bit small but it's because the hotel is so old. Carrousel bar is very neat.

Wonderful hotel, great location & spacious room. Quiet even though very close to Bourbon Street. Concierge was very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic - huge bowl of fresh raspberries and blackberries with yoghurt - yummy!!

The hotel was very busy but the doormen took care of parking and we checked in quickly. Carousel Bar is a spot not to miss. The room was clean, quiet, bed was very comfortable and we could adjust the temperature as we liked. Bathroom was well stocked with great towels, robes and toiletries. Complimentary deluxe continental breakfast while renovations are made to the restaurant was wonderful. Lots of fruit, pastries, cereal and beverages. This is our French Quarter headquarters!

In New Orleans for business. The Monteleone is an excellent hotel and the service is tops. Regular rooms are comfortable but smallish. The restaurant and some of the meeting areas were being renovated at the time of the stay. The hotel provided a complimentary continental breakfast to make up for the closed restaurant. The continental breakfast was excellent but the room was small and the wait line became quite long after 8am.

This is a classic New Orleans Hotel. There is construction going on but it effects the outside sidewalk more then inside the hotel. The staff was very efficient except for my key which didn't work the first time. The complementary enhanced continental breakfast was very elegant with fresh linens at the table - it was so popular I needed to wait 5 minutes to get seated. Bottom line I would definately stay again with the nice price of under $119.

This was my 4th trip to New Orleans, first time staying at the Monteleone. We had stumbled onto this hotel the last time we were in town for St. Patrick's Day in 2009 and love the beauty of the lobby. Decided to stay on our next visit. Great location to Bourbon without all the crazy... great location to Canal Street as well as Jackson Square and the French Market. (Walking distance to all locations). Staff was wonderful. Very nice and clean rooms. Highly recommend!

Great stay. Great location. I wanted to see some art galleries and we couldn't have been in a better spot. The hotel was really nice and the staff were great. Concierge worked her magic to get reservations at a restaurant that told me they were all booked. Would definitely go back!

I had a very plaesant stay at Hotel Monteleone. I have been to New Orleans three other times and stayed at three different hotels, but this was the best. The location is excellent and the service was outstanding. I would definitely stay there again.

The women at the check-in desk were a little snooty and parking is expensive, but the room was very nice and the hotel is beautiful. The location is perfect in the heart of the french quarter, everything of interest was within walking distance. I would stay here again in the future.
