This well located hotel in down town San Francisco offers friendly, highly quality, professional service that international travellers appreciate. The rooms are tastefully furnished with an individual touch that makes it distinctively San Francisco. Very good internet service, essentail for the international traveller. The French American restaurant adjoining the hotel is to die for. Best of all is the large reception room off the lobby where guests can enjoy coffee and read the newspapers.

The staff was incredibly friendly and always asked us about our day in the city. I had read that the rooms were small but decided against the suite. The room was small for 2 adults and 2 adult children but it was clean and interestingly decorated and we spent very little time in there anyways. The location is great, close to public transportation.

We visited all the major landmarks in San Francisco. Hotel Monaco is a great location in Union Square. Easy to walk to Market street and to where the Cable Car line starts.

Hotel was very well located. The bed was very comfortable. Towells and amenities...excellent. At this hotel, there were some areas to have a glass of wine, or coffee. Very NICE

Hotel was beautiful, artfully restored older building. Standard rooms are very small, we upgraded to a junior suite after our 1st two nights for only $30/night! Staff was great, very friendly and accomodating. Had dinner in their restaurant, The Grand Cafe. Felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food. Very beautiful decor though. Hotel is in the middle of the very busy Union Square district. Parking is very difficult and expensive. We were lucky to find a garage for $25/night. Took a day trip to Napa. It was awesome! Very central and close to all the touristy stuff. Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, Golden Gate Bride, Alcatraz. My favorite thing was seeing our San Diego Padres beat the Giants at AT&T Park. You have to see a ballgame there! Park is about 1.5 mile walk from the hotel. I recommend this hotel, but make sure you get a junior suite, or else you will feel cramped.

The hotel is for adults who enjoy a very high quality room and very little noise from the surrounding streets. The Grand Cafe and lounge are both well appointed with a friendly and courteous staff.

The queen sized bed mattress was soft, but my husband and I rolled into each other in the middle because the mattress was worn out there. The wine hour from 5-6 was great! Free wine before heading out for dinner. Valet parking at the hotel was great! We ate at the Grand Cafe next door. It was expensive, but well worth it.

This hotel is very nicely decorated but we weren't too thrilled about the rooms. The rooms are very tiny and dark. There wasn't much space for the bed which made it difficult to get in and out of the bed and they could do with some new mattresses. There is very little closet space, no coffee or tea making facilities in the room and no free drinking water. Until 10 o'clock in the morning there is tea and coffee available for hotel guests but to get it you have to go down stairs. In the afternoon the hotel offers a complimentary glass of wine.

This was an AWESOME hotel!!! I searched all over to find my perfect "get away" hotel in San francisco. I love hotels with character- not your average Holiday inn...Honestly, I could not have been happier- everyday from 5-6 is free wine, beer and massages...all the rooms have top products, and it is in the middle of everything. Literally by TONS of great restaurants, right across from union square, and by all the shopping. Also, there is a GREAT restaurant inside the hotel- French cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner...They also have in room massages...I didn't have time for one- but I will the next time. I feel like I am raving now...but honestly I have very high expectations- this hotel is a bargain for the price, the rooms are beautiful, and the location is perfect!!

The most impressive element of our visit to this property was the consistently high level of professionalism and friendly attitude of the entire staff, from Bell to Front Desk, to Restaurant staff. The management has done a great job in developing a culture of exquisite care and attention by the staff towards guests.
