Strict check in time of 2 pm don't expect to get in any earlier.. Room was good, little on the small size queen bed was pushed up against the wall which was not ideal. Charge for the gym, English tv channels etc. not bad but not the best

I have stayed at this hotel 10 times in the past one year, average of 3 to 4 nights every time, because this hotel's location is only 3 minutes away from my business associates. However, I wish I could find other hotel near by. I always feel, never again staying here, when I check out, but I have no other choice but the hotel. Perhaps, Westerns will be well taken care of, but not Japanese person like me. I am going to try Prince Sunshine City next time.

They seem to be very friendly and talkative to Western guests but not to Japanese guests. In fact they seem to change their manners to Western guests.

This hotel has an excellent location. It's a short 5 minutes walk from the train station and is near to two departmental stores (with food halls at the basement). The earthquake museum is also just behind the hotel. The bathroom is surprisingly big for a hotel in Japan and both it and the room are very comfortable. There are also several restaurant in the vicinity and finding food is never an issue. The only downside is that I didn't see a coin-operated laundromat nearby.

This very busy hotel is opposite the Ikebukuro station which also has a huge array of wonderful shops to explore, especially the food courts! Hotel is exceptional in every way with a number of restaurants to choose from and would definitely stay again without question. From the station across the road, easy train access to other areas for shopping, sightseeing etc. Hotel staff so helpful as are the Japanese people in general. Everything so clean, no graffiti! Try, you will love it!

The hotel location is really great. it's just 1minute walking from South exit, so it's really convenient. Don't get confused with the map, thinking you'd need to go far... The rooms are actually not so small, if you know the japanese standards. We needed a baby bed (provided by the hotel), they could fit it in a "Standard Double" and in a "Superior Twin". So it's sort of big for the price you're paying. The rooms aren't new, but clean. With some luck, you can get a nice view (Fujiyama, Tokyo sky tree, etc). The staff is nice and helpful (bringing us coffee, umbrellas, helping with baby bed, etc)

Hotel is just ok. I stayed in a superior room that was very small, no space for luggage, terrible internet, even with the router. They allowed us a one hour extension on check out. Excellent location, competent staff at check in. Great for a night or two for a tourist, not good for a business trip if internet is important.

Well located hotel near Ikebukuro in Tokyo. This is a big and busy hotel with lots of restaurants. Its in a lively part of town and convenient for the JR station for travelling within or out of tokyo on day trips. I was lucky enough to can a glimpse of Mount Fuji from my window on a cloudy day.

Hotel is in a very good location, which is just 5 minutes walk to the train station and large shopping malls. Very impressed with efficient replacement of amenities by housekeeping. Will stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past few years and I have always found its room prices are fair considering the central location. This time I booked a superior room with double bed, bath/shower and with free Internet. Storage & hanging space are limited so plan to keep items in your suitcase and a drawer safe, Very comfortable size for several days' stay. The hotel is so close to the Tokyo metro and department stores you are not limited to the hotel amenities - this time I was unwell and the outstanding customer service support really saved the day. Highly recommended..

I stayed at Sunroute Plaza Hotel Shujuku for my first 2 nights and decided to shift to Metro Hotel for the weekend to save some money. I was skeptical at first after reading mixed reviews, but decided to try anyways. Departed from Shunjuku Station for Ikebukuro station which is also a main subway hub. Cost 150 yen/pax one way. 4 JR Stations later, I arrived at Ikebukuro. Hotel is only a block away. Very convenient. Some eateries and malls nearby, but definitely not as many as Shunjuku. However, good reasonably-priced hotel to stay as a base to go visit Tokyo. All receptionists speak English. There is free LAN internet in the room. No wifi in room or hotel lobby unless you have a FON login acc for wifi in lobby. Normal supplies provided (toothbrush, shaver, shampoo, cotton-bugs, hair-dryer etc. There are English channels (BBC, CNN). Great value for its price. (between USD 100-140/night for 2 consecutive nights booking. If it cost more, you could be better off staying in Shunjuku.

Conveniently located. The English speaking staff were very friendly and helpful. Gladly helped us retrieve a lost purse from a non English-speaking travel agency.
