When checking out, I was asked to pay $18 for parking at unsurfaced ground from 6:30 pm to 9:30 am. I noticed this place belongs to the Wilson Parking, whose rate is $1 per hour and $4 per day. Besides, staff are not nice. All in all, it's not worth the price. Not recommended.

ibis has re-opened in the heart of the city, but it's really the only thing there other than a re-construction zone. the hotel, rooms & food/bar area are a good standard. there are a few pop up stores ... but little else within the area. the staff are inconsistent in their professionalism and attitude... like chalk & cheese. it's value for money which is what ibis is about and delivers.

This is a perfectly nice hotel stuck on the edge of the Christchurch 'red zone' and therefore surrounded by not much in the way of restaurants, bars, etc. The staff are helpful and respect environmental values (e.g., by not changing bed linen if you don't insist on it, which for a 3-night stay I don't). It wasn't expensive but there are probably better options if you're looking for affordability.

Great location, particularly for the price. Having recently been rebuilt, it is nice to have everything new. However, I had a very uncomfortable night's sleep. The room is completely sealed - so you are forced to have the air conditioner on for air (which I don't like sleeping with it on). Furthermore, the pillows on the bed were WAY to thick, which gave me a sore neck. It wasn't much of a consolation to find smaller pillows hanging in the wardrobe the next morning.

average hotel, used to be good location, but now hard to find way to access it because CBD is under re-construction. Booked three rooms, but one room's bathroom looks like made for disable people. did not feel comfortable. The rest is OK.

we arrived one week after the earthquake and the lifts weren't operational. Whilst this wasn't the hotel's fault, they didn't appear to have any additional staff to cope with this situation, in particular helping guests with carrying bags up stairs etc. We also noticed that fit and able guests were placed on lower floors than us and we were with 2 people who were 75+

Room was clean and a good size with 2 double beds so was ideal for 2 sisters travelling together as we were. Bathroom fairly small but adequate. Breakfast was the usual buffet type. Waffle maker was a nice extra. Great location for shopping and seeing sights around the central city and easy walk to bus station.

Great location,1 min to Cathedral Square. Lovely check- in staff very helpful. The rooms with 2 double beds are small very compact with 2 adults & 2 kids. Across the road is a nightclub so you do hear the music, so stay in the room not facing the road for a quite sleep. Over all great price and would stay again.

The window in my room on the 7th floor faced a blank wall of the next door building, but I can live with that. The 3 things that I look for in a hotel are shower, bed and quiet and the Hotel Ibis met my requirements on all 3. Good value for money too, and is very convenient to the City centre, in fact just metres from Cathedral Square. Hopefully the roadworks at the front of Hotel will be completed when I come back to Christchurch. Yes, I would stay at the Ibis again
