Hotel Halftime Nara Guest Reviews
I stayed here in November 2011. Hotel is conveniently located about 50 metres from the Shinoomiya train station. Convenience store half a block away. From here you can take the train one stop to Kintetsunara Nara station which is the closest station to the park containing all the amazing world heritage buildings. Hotel was very clean. Single room (single bed) quite small but this is normal in Japan. Staff were very helpful (gave me map & english tourist magazine) and their English skills compensated for my lack of Japanese. One of the receptionists is an English teacher as well. Breakfast is in attached chinese restaurant downstairs, so a (tasty) chinese breakfast, which was included in my room fee. All round a very good hotel to stay at, plus convenient to get to tourist sites. Note Shinoomiya station is on a different train line to the main (JR?) Nara station.
