Helpful staff and clean room with good facilities. Only downside is room only has a fridge; no freezer section.

I already stayed twice in the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Brisbane in the last weeks, travelling Australia. (and will definitely come back) It was absolutely perfect, both times. The location is not far from Roma Street Station and in walking-distance of the CBD. The hotel is situated on top of a hill, so you have a great view from the rooms. It was definitely a great value for the money. The rooms (Standard Queen Room & Superior Queen Room) are spacious and clean and have modern and elegant amenities. But the very best was the staff. They were doing a great job and were always very friendly and helpful.

Overall excellent value with good initial reception, very comfortable rooms with view down the Brisbane River and 10 to 15 mins walk to the city or 5 minutes by bus.Would certainly use again without hesitation. Only suggestion for improvement might be to charge a more reasonable figure for continental breakfast which at $26 is rather steep. It is only rivalled by $29 for a traditional breakfast or $58 for two. There are however any number of cafes fairly close by offering similar fare for about half the price.

We stopped in Brisbane for one night before heading overseas. It was great value for a Saturday night and the walk to the city centre was only 7 minutes. Would stay there again.

Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly, smiling and efficient. Housekeeping was great, we returned to a clean and tidy room every day, such a delight. Difficulty with plumbing was noted and options to move to a new room, when indicated happy to stay offered complimentary breakfast for the inconvience- vey good customer service. Would stay again. Comfortable bed and pillows.

Just a short stroll to the city. We stayed here on our way to the airport as the parking was free and the room rate cheaper than the airport hotels. Nice room and friendly staff.

Stay was for day surgery at St Andrew's Hospital across the street and was therefore very covenient. Only 10 to 15 minutes walk to the city. Parking at $20 per day is very reasonable for Brisbane and there is good space between vehicles allowing easy parking. Room was a good size with a good view over the adjacent park and the Brisbane River. Would thoroughly recommend.

The standard rooms are described to be on top 2 floors (10 and 11). We were given a room on level 4. Not a big problem, but the dexciption is certainly wrong. The room was quiet and and clean. Bathroom had a akward shower head. Windows did not open, which I don't like. Mattresses were dated with some springs to be felt. No balcony ("most rooms have a private balcony" - well, not ours). Location is the best asset of this hotel. All up, not a bad place, but not a very good one either.

Very comfortable place to stay with everything that I required. Room was well decorated- fresh and clean. I was able to study in peace and quiet after attending a tiring class. A great place to unwind with a pool, spa and gym. Enjoyed the restaurant with well prepared meals and good wines..

I had a weekend of meetings in Brisbane and needed to stay somewhere quiet and comfortable. The Grand Chancellor looked good but wasn't. Street noise could be heard on the 8th floor. The room lacked any shelf or drawer space which made unpacking underwear, socks and sweaters impossible. On Sunday evening I went to the bar for a drink. I misread a notice about Happy Hour and expressed surprise at the cost of the drink I ordered. The drink had not been made; the inconvenience for the barman was minimal. The barman's response: 'Next time, read the notice properly!' I do not mind having my mistake pointed out but I expect it to be done politely.

This hotel was superb. The room was a good size, very clean, at great location. Just a short stroll down the hill into town to visit the casino and do some shopping in the mall. I would highly recommend it. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room standard exceptional. We will definately stay there again.

This was one of the nicest hotels for this price I have stayed in and will use it for trips to Brisbane from now on. The restaurant meal was delicious. Only downside was the walk to city was fine but coming back up hill was exhausting!
