Location
This elegant property is located a couple of minutes away from La Fortuna and just 15 minutes drive from Lake Arenal. The hotel is about 1.3 Kilometres north from La Fortuna's Park and on the countryside. This area is located outside the low risk influence zone of the volcano, making Hotel Gran Arenal a very nice and safe place to stay in La Fortuna.

Hotel Gran Arenal Guest Reviews
This hotel is located away from the main strip of hotels in the centre of La Fortuna, so you have the peace and quiet, but is only a few minutes drive to the town centre so you can still enjoy the bars and restaurants. The private cabins and well-kept, clean and tastefully decorated. The owner, Luis, is extremely helpful and accommodating and made our stay very pleasant - we even stayed an extra night there rather than booking another hotel.

A real little "hidden" gem. The only bad thing about it was trying to find it. There were no signs within La Fortuna to point us in the right direction from any of the main streets and language barriers prevented us from getting the assistance we needed from locals. The hotel wasn't on any of the local maps. My only suggestion would be to improve the directions listed on the internet website ... such as; to follows signs for another nearby hotel to get you on the correct road. There should also be an explanation not to be shocked that the road leading to this hotel turns into an unpaved road that appears to be heading no where. The staff was extremely helpful in giving us directions for our travels the next day and very apologetic we had trouble finding the hotel in the first place. Very nice people.
