Hotel De I'Academie Saint Germain
4 out of 5

My partner and I stayed at The Academie in July. we found the hotel to be charming. The staff were very nice and spoke great English, which was better than our french!! It is in a fabulous location, close to the Boulevarde St. Germain, the Metro, the Seine. It really is the best area in Paris to stay. Rooms are small, but if you have stayed in Paris before you will know that this is normal. It is old and charming and oh so French. We will stay again.

Great location of the hotel allows you to reach all the main tourist attractions within walking distance, many good restaurants and cafe's nearby. Rooms are small but that's Paris, Very clean, very comfortable beds and friendly staff, I would definently recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel within walking distance of everything Paris offers the tourist. Fantastic, friendly English speaking staff. Worth upgrading to a Jnr suite for the extra space. Good continental breakfast offered.

Excellent support from staff. Appreciated the free use of the internet, especially as we were caught by the Icelandic volcanic ash. Suggested improvements: hot water availability in room for drinks.

A lovely Bijou Hotel in the best district of Paris. Away from it all yet centrally located and in walking distance of all the sights. The local RER station will take you directly to Charles De Gaul airport, Gare du Nord and Stade de France. Iconic eateries Cafe De Flore and Brasserie Lipp are just around the corner.

This hotel is very noisy. Right on the corner of two busy streets.

The location - 4 blocks from the Louvre, in the heart of the Latin Quarter, surrounded by galleries and cafes - was incredible. The price was great too, 109 euros per night, about 100 less than other hotels in the area. I was a little disappointed with the condition of the bathroom - doors wouldn't close, moldy shower, etc., but it was otherwise charming, even for the basic standard room. Parking in the private garage across the street is a bonus too, and the staff spoke fluent English and was helpful.

I stayed there with another female in March, and we felt very safe. The hotel seems to be tucked into a building, as the stairs seemed to be a bit of a maze, but we had a lovely odor free experience. The front desk attendants were very helpful, though it would be useful to know a bit of polite French.

very small rooms (3m x 3m), worn out (color on the walls is brushed off, stained carpets, broken tiles in the bathroom), but stuff is friendly and helpfull

This is a boutique hotel in an excellant location in Saint Germaine. Easy walk across to the Louvre and the Musee d Orsay just around the corner. Plenty of places to eat nearby with an excellant bakery next door. Rooms are a little small, but time spent at the hotel is limited as we were out early in the morning and back only to sleep at night. Very clean room and bathroom. friendly staff. I would stay here again as it is great value.

A nice, quiet hotel, but right in the liveliest part of Paris. Rooms not that big, but no bother. If I go to Paris again, I will stay here again.

Information should state that wi-fi must be paid extra. When I booked this hotel I booked it because it had wi-fi - but this was subject to an extra cost.

The service wasn't average but the lack of room servive and coffee/tea facilities in the room prevents me from rating it as "good". I know it's not unusual in Paris but keep wishing it'll change soon.

Location was excellent and the desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom had a towel with a hole in it, and we were charged 2.50 Euros for a local phone call. So I guess we were satisfied, but not thrilled.
