My friends and I always stay at Avante. The staff is friendly and the rooms are a good size. The beds are comfortable which is a big plus. And the rooms are always clean. Although, they could use softer towels for customers who have sensitive skin. Other than that, the hotel is perfect.

The Hotel Avante looks a little bleak from the outside--pulling off El Camino into the awkward parking lot left me nervous about our choice, but we needed something close to Stanford for my reunion. However, the front desk staff was helpful and enthusiastic, the room was comfortable, clean and new, the wifi was immediately available and consistent. Every day housekeeping left new bottles of water and candy on the pillow. There's a lounge on the 3rd floor that apparently had wine in the evenings (though I was never there during my stay, so can't confirm), and the room rate includes breakfast in their "breakfast room," which looks like two guest rooms that have been converted into a small dining space. Crowded and a bit awkward, but the buffet of breakfast options included eggs, bacon, and pancakes alongside the usual bagels & fruit. Overall, the hotel is definitely not situated in a vacation hot spot, but if you need a place to stay in the Palo Alto/Mt. View area that offers more of the comforts of a city hotel, Avante will serve you well.

very nice amenities, great location, older place graciously remodeled. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
