This is a tidy well located Hotel with good facilities. But like many European hotels they have smoking rooms right next to non-smoking rooms. Also if sitting in the foyer expect great wafts of cigar and cigarette smoke to sail in. Also like many of the other reviews have already stated - the wireless internet situation in the rooms is very poor. Saw many sad souls sitting in corridors checking emails I assume :-( Vienna on the other hand is a fantastic city and this hotel is in a great location.

The hotel is pleasantly old-fashioned, clean and close to good shopping and restaurants. It is on a corner adjoining the pedestrian mall, with no traffic noise.

We needed accommodation near the State Opera, and in this regard the hotel was ideal, being just down the road from the opera. But the room was very noisy, with old windows that don't seal and an upper window that never closes, and we were not happy with the rigmorole of having to hand in our key every time we went out. I can remember that from 30 years ago but I would have thought that in this day and age the hotel would have had better security arrangements than that. The breakfast was very expensive (19 Euros).

Upon our arrival, we were immediately upgraded to a junior suite! Very comfortable. A block from the Opera House and center of the city. So very convenient to the trolleys, shopping, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was very, very expensive so would recommend eating elsewhere. We would/will stay here again!
