Great location for a family get away. The kids loved the pools and the beach. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Honua Kai Resort offers decent sized condos (1 bedroom) with breathtaking Lanai views. The lanai doors were our favorite part of our stay. We had a 1 bedroom mountain view condo which was perfect for us. We loved the mountain colors every morning. The sun rises over the mountain displaying the beautiful greens and browns offered from Maui's finest. Being able to open these doors really put this resorts accommodations over the top. The pools looked nice, but we are more of ocean people. The beaches are great!! We actually went down about 20 minutes to a spot that had better waves and less rocks. The beach near Honua Kai is good for snorkeling but I did get a little cut up from there being so much coral near the beach, which apparently is common, as told to us by the first aid guy on the resort. My suggestion is if you are going to swim out a little bit, to head south 15 minutes or so. It's a little safer down there. Duke's is a must. People travel from other parts of the island to eat here and it's on the resort. Great food, great drinks, and awesome bartenders!!! Aina market is in the lobby of the main building and is OUTSTANDING!! Everything comes from O'O Farms which we took a lunch tour of and we highly recommend!! This really took our trip to another level. Also, the chef of the market and farm have 2 restaurants in Lahaina. We ate at I'O and it was so good. Definitely recommend this place!! Would stay here again and hope to do so some day!!

Could not ask for anything more except one thing: The cleaning staff works unpredictable hours, our sheets were not changed during our 6 days stay and never the tables, counter tops were wiped clean of finger prints and such (everybody used a suntanning lotion which leaves greasy residue). This is the one thing wich needs to improve.

One bedroom apt excellent .large & comfortable. Along the beach facilities for renting paddleboarding & kayaking , which we did. Snorkeling just 5 min drive away. Our apt. was partial sea view which was excellent. One thing was the 'no children' policy wasn't enforced enough . Also be very careful as the coral is very close as you Get into the water on the immediate beach in front of The hotel. Great have 'Dukes' right on site, wonderful Food . Airport only 45mins away.

Did lots of hotel research prior to booking our vacation at the Honua Kai. Happy to report that everything was just terrific. Hotel was exactly as pictured and described, location was amazing, staff friendly as can be and the comfort just ideal. Of course, the perfect weather and glorious views helped! Will definitely return and make the Honua Kai our destination.

The room was fantastic. Services were great and proximately to beach was perfect. I didnt use the pool, but it was well-kept and would be great for children. Dining options are limited and the small hotel store was a bit pricey, but the room had every thing i needed to prepare my own meals.

Beautiful territory. Great service. Very clean. Convenient location of the hotel. It has one of the best beaches on the island and is perfect for family vacation

We were assigned to 2nd floor and hardly had partial ocean view. When I complained, we were offered 3rd floor but we turned down move due to inconvenience and a tree would have blocked entire view. There were lots of toddlers at all pools. Pools were only 3 feet deep!!

If you are like me and scour hotel reviews before going on a trip, rest assured that you have found the perfect place to stay! Where do I start? Open and airy lobby, tasteful and upscale decor, comfortable beds, attentive housekeeping, peaceful beachside setting with a boardwalk just behind the hotel that goes up and down north Ka'anapali beach, a great set of pools (with a splash pad, water slide, and sand pool for the kids), easy self-parking, and so much more! Great location on the beach - no issues whatsoever. This is paradise!

This Resort is great. In a great location and very close to Front Street and Whaler's Village and the beach is right behind. Next to Kaanapali Beach Resort. The room was great and had everything we needed. The bathroom was really nice and modern. Room comes with a safe, complete kitchen and washer and dryer. Great value compared to the other hotels and resorts.

This place has beautiful rooms, nice pools and a great exercise room. Having Duke's onsite was great as well. It would have been nice to have at least one of the pools reserved for adults only though.

room was left daily with a few housekeeping services not completed, had to ask for more towels, kleenex, etc. Seemed that room was always half complete!! great walking path for one end of Ka'anapali to the other end. Excellent hotel property!!

I expected more from this hotel. No shuttle or bus service from hotel which was disappointing. Rooms were not replenished with kleenex in two couples rooms even when left empty box on counter. Full kitchen with dishwasher was good, also washer and dryer worked well. Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned often enough for my liking considering how much the hotel cost.

Overall the resort was above average. Multiple pools, good food at Dukes, and a wonderful Hawaii feel. Staff was friendly and informative, resort was clean, and we had a great time. Food on the island is fairly pricey for a foodie (we spent over $2,000 just at restaurants for the occasional lunch and dinner almost every night for a 2 week stay) so it is wise to utilize your kitchen and hit Costco and Safeway for liquor and breakfast/lunch essentials. We really did go all out for our dinners so our bill may be slightly higher than most. That said, make sure you hit the Cool Cat Café in Lahaina for the best burger I have ever had. Shave ice at Local Boys and a homemade ice cream sandwich from Hula Cookies & Ice Cream is the perfect dessert. Only notable cons would be the $25/day resort charge and a rental charge of $35 for beach chairs/umbrella for the beach???? For a $25/day resort charge we should not be nickel and dimed for basic items such as beach chairs and an umbrella.
