Holiday Inn Pudong Hotel Shanghai Guest Reviews
The only thing that was not good was the coffee shop. There were very few customers but the services was slow as the staff were too busy chatting to each other and the food none too hot. I feel there should be supervisors on every shift not just at the busy times.

My wife and I were very pleased with the accommdation. It is a good place for an overnight stay while waiting to take flights from the new Pudong Intl Airport.

Overall, not too bad, especially if your main reason for being in Shanghai is for business. In-house restaraunt was very good for Western Style buffet breakfast & even lunch was above average. Hotel staff a bit on the thick side when it came to answering any kind of question but that was probably because I do not speak Mandarin or Shanghainese. The in room telephone system must have definitely gone to the lowest bidder. Interesting feature of this hotel is the in-house karaoke lounges available for rent on the second floor. I went by thinking I might host some of my local friends & asked if they had English language songs on the menu. They said they did & I told them I would like to reserve a room for the following night & also asked if I could look at the song menu book to check out the English language songs. Well, they flatly refused to let me do this. For some reason, it was "not allowed".....So, I cancelled the reservation & leave it to someone else to follow up on...

I arrived at 2 AM due to a flight delay. When I arrived at the hotel entrance a door man cheerfully greeted me and helped communicate for me with paying the taxi driver. As soon as I walked into the hotel lobby feeling exhausted and blurry eyed, I was greeted by name. It made me feel a little more at home and relaxed after a difficult day. After a short check in I was ushered to my room with the help of a friendly and helpful bell boy. The room was great. Very clean, nicely decorated, on a non smoking floor, with large thick comforters on each bed. As soon as the door was shut I headed for and sank into the comforter on the bed and sighed. The wake up call came promptly and five minutes later it came a second time, which could be a life saver for a weary traveler. The only negative thing I could say is business center was rather small for such a large hotel. There were only two computers. Fortunately for me, I arrived just before the rush, while others had to wait.
