Excellent value for this comfortable hotel. Good inhouse restaurant. 200m from the metro which makes it very convenient for all the attractions of Newcastle and the coast Will definitely use this hotel again

Once the Hotel is finished it will be brilliant. The boarding outside as you arrive is a bit off putting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Drinking water in the rooms or an ice machine in the corridor would be good. If the air conditioning was working that would also have helped as the room was very hot. It was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed on the second floor and our route through the building was as follows: up the stairs, through a hallway, up more stairs, through the conference rooms hallway, up more stairs, and then strangely down the stairs. The pool is a good feature but found it a little small especially when there are more than 6 people in it at one time. Close to Jesmond Station but awkwardly only one stop to the centre of town. Nothing interesting in the surroundings.

The shower and tv in the room did not work at all. The light shade above the bed fell off in my hand when searching for the light switch in the dark. The bar area was full of stale cigar smoke. The reception failed to set up an account for me so I was unable to charge drinks to my room. There are alarming warning signs posted througout the hotel warning of severe punishment (clamping and a £90 release fee) for daring to park in the hotel car park (as a resident!) without a permit. Breakfast is a dire and drab affair. The credit card machine had broken down when I tried to check out in the morning. I was promised that a receipt would be sent in the post to my home. Needless to say, they didn't send one. The reception staff happilly chatted amongst themselves about wanting to leave and couldn't care less about my comments on checkout. I doubt the shower or tv will have been fixed. No notes were taken. Steer well clear of this hotel.

Would suggest they have signs that clearly state the restaurant closes at 21.00 which is quite early as this was a disappointment

The hotel itself has very good facilities (indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna etc..) and communal areas, and a great breakfast to boot with almost everything you can think of freshly cooked. The location is also good, being only a 3-4 minute walk from the Metro and pretty easy to find by car. However, our room was a bit small and in need of an update. Also, we had to climb several flights of stairs with luggage as there was no lift.

"I have stayed at this hotel several times, the location is good (close to Metro station giving direct access to airport, town centre, etc.). Easy walking distance to University and to main shopping areas. Hotel is a mixture of old and new buildings combined together, with many different styles of sleeping-rooms, which are rather small. Traffic noise from busy road is not noticeable if the windows are kept closed. Comprehensive buffet breakfast provided." On this occasion I was in a double room, with my wife, we were both satisfied with our (two day) stay. The price via Hotel Club was a significant discount and therefore good value.

Clean room, sufficient breakfast, and friendly staff. Little bit noisy, but to be expected due to convenient location as regards transport facilities. Hotel is located close to the Metro station (5 min.) and in walking distance to University (15 min.) and town centre (25 min.). Would come again.

Newcastle is a great city for a short break - and this hotel was so convenient (the Metro was just across the road). The room we stayed in looked recently refurbished and very fresh. We turned the heating off as the room was too warm. The staff could not have been more helpful and the swimming pool, steam room and sauna were great after a tiring day out. The hot buffet breakfast was self-service and was very good - no complaints at all.

Since my last stay at this hotel when I had cause to complain about the cleanliness of the bathroom, things have improved and I felt that this time I got good value for money.

The reception staff were extremely helpful on our arrival. Some of our party used the leisure facilities and found them to be fantastic. We all throughly enjoyed our stay.
