Holiday Inn Hotel Minneapolis-Metrodome Guest Reviews
Close to the office I was having a training at, decent WIFI, close to the light rail, nice staff. All good.

The bed is a bit soft for my taste, and the gym is nothing like the photos on the website. The pool is more like a large bath tub. The staff is reasonably friendly and accommodating. A reasonable choice for its proximity to the University. Otherwise, better off elsewhere.

My friend booked this hotel for the conference through travelweb.com, and there were 3 of us sharing the room. The website only asked for the name of the person who booked the hotel and did not ask to identify the other people sharing the room. Then we had a confirmation email showing only my friend's name. Because I was the first one to arrive at the hotel and my name was not on the confirmation email, my friend called ahead to inform Hoiday Inn Minneapolis Metrodome to add my name to the room and let me check in first. They agreed and also told us they could provide three split receipts for us for reimbursement purposes. However, when we checked out today, the guy at the front desk (Paul) insisted they did not have any record with my name on it. He said we could only ask travelweb.com for split receipts. We asked him how he could explain the hotel let someone other than the person who made the reservation check in without any written record. He was extremely rude and simply said, "my only answer is to contact travelweb.com. And this conversation is over." I asked to see the manager and he claimed he was the manager and refused to talk to us again. I understand the hotel would not have a receipt because the reservation was made through third party. However, I felt very uneasy and troubled that Holiday Inn Metrodome did not keep a proper record on who checked in under whose authorization. This poses potential danger to travelers choosing to stay at their hotel. Criminals would take advantage of this kind of irresponsible action by the hotel. Also different hotel staff gave you different answers to your questions and demonstrated their inconsistency in customer service. In addition, the carpet of the room was really dirty. The temperature of the room could never be adjusted right. The fan was terribly loud. The so-called complimentary internet never worked properly during our stay. It is located in an awkward spot in town - to actually go to the stadium/light rail station, you have to take a shuttle (free though). To to downtown, it takes at least 8 bucks one trip. Taxis and the "official pick-up service" MSP at the entrance fought hard to get people staying at Holiday Inn Metrodome to ride with them. Things got ugly when they yelled and bad-mouthed each other. Overall, if you wanna experience the ugly side of the beautiful twin cities, then try to stay at Holiday Inn Metrodome. One way or another, they have ways to ruin your stay. Good luck!

Very nice location, many restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. Close to the stadium as well as the University of Minnesota. Public parking garage is attached although you have to pay extra for it. Nice sauna, hot tub, and pool on top floor.

The hotel is clean, staff is friendly. It is a 5-min walk from the UMN business school; so it was very convenient for me. Walkable distance from downtown.
