"Family business" trip overhauling a rental property. 4th of July weekend jumped the prices a little, but our previous hotel that was cheaper in Asheboro was booked this time. PROS: Room itself was decent, good nights sleep overall. Great free breakfast = sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereals, oatmeals, pastries, make-yourself pancakes. CONS: Outside pool was just outside our window (we were on second floor). Noiser than I expected, and pool + AC = bad smell in the room when AC was on. TV was older "4:3" tube set, not an HD like the other hotel. The HI Express requires you to snake around a Hampton Inn to get to it (same entrance, and same tight parking lot road). Alternative entrance is to stay on main road (don't go into the Hampton Inn) and turn right behind the Hampton and drive a short ways along the back of the hotel to turn in to the HI Express. SUMMARY: Didn't notice a huge difference in the overall stay compared to Asheboro Comfort Inn, but given the new rates for summer, will likely stay again at Archdale, due to the slightly better stay and slightly shorter distance to our ultimate destination. NEXT TIME: Looks like "non-holiday" rates are at $90, will likely stay again, though this time request a room away from the pool. Will go to Vino Cafe again, their Lasagna and Spaghetti w/ meatballs and cheese were amazing! (not to be confused with Vino Pizza / Sir Pizza across the street, though we didn't try either of those to give an opinion on them).
