Holiday Inn Express Chicago-Palatine/North Arlington Heights Guest Reviews
Planned to stay a night after a friend's wedding. The hotel was a little tricky to find as it's not directly off Dundee Road. Checking-in earlier in the day was a breeze. Room was so so but had a nice looking bed and a full-body mirror. TV was dated but that wasn't a surprise given the cost. Bathroom had a medium-sized vanity and the toiletries were small and easily stuffed into our suitcase. The hotel had shuttle service to and from the reception hall we'd be visiting, though the front desk didn't mention it upon check-in. Continental breakfast was served with some hot items including country biscuits and gravy, sausage patties and bacon. Front desk handled taxi needs in the morning.

Pros - Great location to food, shopping and airport. - Free wi fi - Delicious continental breakfast Cons - Awful customer service - Never did dry cleaning for important event please read my review below. - Gross elevator - Poorly remodeled hotel - Muggy hotel room even with a/c on. The location of the hotel was great. There were a lot of restaurant, grocery stores and shopping plazas all around. It was very close to the airport which was also convenient, but don't stay here if you want to frequent downtown Chicago, the trip takes at least an hour. The continental breakfast which is usually gross at any hotel was actually pretty good. Here is the bad. My Girlfriend and I were in town for a wedding. On Friday morning we both dropped off some dry cleaning to be taken care of. The hotel advertised same day pick up. Well come Saturday at 5 PM I go down stairs to pick up our dry cleaning. Well, my dry cleaning is not there. The front desk tells me to go up stairs while he locates our dry cleaning and will call the room when it is found. Thirty minutes later no call. I go down stairs and ask the same gentlemen at the front desk if he has found my dry cleaning or figured anything out. Needless to say he was surprised I came back down stairs to ask about my dry cleaning and from the look on his face I could tell he did nothing to look for it. So he goes off for a minute to search for it but no luck yet again. Looking behind the desk I see some dry cleaning drop off bags. I ask if there were any bags there for room 504 and behold there our dry cleaning was, never moved a spot. I begin to panic because the wedding was on a Sunday and my Girlfriend was a Bridesmaid. The only help the front desk offered was handing me my clothes and giving me a phone number to the dry cleaner who picks up the clothes for this location and said "good luck bud". Needless to say I couldn't find a dry cleaners open after 6 PM or on Sunday for dry cleaning. Basically screw the customer service at this hotel because there was none and they left me high and dry with my dry cleaning for a good friends wedding. Also, I do know the guy picking up the dry cleaning came because the cleaner told me he saw them come by. Basically they never did my dry cleaning and offered me no help. This place is a dump. You can tell they took an old hotel and tried to modernize it. Still looks like a dump. Our room was also muggy even with the a/c blasting. The elevators were also not working properly. From the first floor they went all the way up and then down to your floor.

The service was great. The North Suburbs of Chicago had a massive power outage which did affect our hotel but the hotel staff did a great job finding us another hotel. [...] [...] and the rest of the staff were great even in the face of so many upset travellers, a high school marching band, and sports campers.
