Perfect Location and everything you need, but no spare square inch, a bit loud.

The location was very convenient to access to downtown and very close to Pizzeria Uno. The breackfast was great. We really enjoyed the selection of the breakfast. Our room had a good view from the window and it was a decent room size.

My husband and I stayed here recently and had a great time! Before going I read some of the other reviews and was a little concerned but we decided to go ahead and decide for ourselves. Some of the reviews I read were complaining about how small the rooms are and yes they are small but still very comfortable and nice (the bed and pillows were great after a long day of shopping and walking) and our main purpose of staying here was to be close to all the things we wanted to do. To us you can't hardly beat the location, it was within walking distance to ALL the things we were doing on this trip (Shopping, House of Blues, Navy Pier, etc)! The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome, we were even able to check in early on the day of our arrival which was fantastic! The door man gave us a helpful map and marked several cool spots to check out if we so desired. The map came in very handy! We also loved that they offered free breakfast in the morning another reason we decided to stay here (most of the other hotels I priced out did not offer breakfast). The breakfast spread was delicious and had MANY different choices. We would most definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone and we plan to stay here again!!

The hotel itself is old with small rooms. I had an opportunity to see two rooms, both of which had murphy beds along with small side tables and desks. Rooms were stocked with standard soaps and shampoo, but no extras. In-room TV/entertainment was modern and easy to use, with full cable, movies on demand and a flat screen TV. Despite the small rooms and no frills room experience, the hotel was clean and nicely refurbished. The lobby and lounge/dining area was clean and ample. Staff was exceedingly pleasant and accomodating. The location is in a very nice area. Valet service is convenient. And, although the beds were atypical, I slept well and in comfort. Overall, it was a bit expensive if only consdering the room itself, but all other factors bring the price slightly more in-line. In all, I'd say it was an average value and a slightly better than average overall experience.

I and my best friend just visited Chicago for the first time on our vacations. If you don't mind a small room, I really would definately recommend to stay and enjoy Chicago at Holiday Inn Express CHICAGO - MAGNIFICENT MILE because it is clean, and located in the great area you could walk around to famous Signseeing as well as to Business Area!

Rooms are small, but our time was spent outside the room touring Chicago. A good value for a last minute, well-located "cozy" room.

Other reviews I read on this hotel complained about the staff, size of the rooms and noise from the adjacent rooms, but I found the staff ALL very friendly and helpful. The rooms ARE small, but that's what you expect in Times Square area, so it didn't surprise me that the Magnificent Mile would be the same. You can hear the showers running and doors closing in adjacent rooms, but as a frequent traveler, that doesn't bother me much -- at least it was clean! The worst thing about it in my opinion was that the bed sagged in the middle. If you're looking for a quiet B&B type setting, go somewhere else! But if you just need a good, comparatively affordable place to crash near the center of everything in Chi-Town, this is a good option. Free breakfast is a nice bonus!

Located close to Michigan Ave to catch the buses, shop, walking distance to most attractions, close to many resturants, close to the red line train. A very convenient home base for a weekend in Chicago to see the attractions.

Location is great, daily compliementary breakfast is a positive for staying here. It eliminated any problem trying to locate a breakfast stop. The rooms are very small and the road noise at night can be very disturbing. If you want to spend any time in your room other than sleeping this would not be the spot for you, otherwise it works great if you are out and about. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room.

Great location. Very close to Rush Street, Chicago River and restaurants. All within walking distance. For over $300 a night, this was a very small room with limited perks. Odd things, like they provided comp. shampoo but no conditioner. Room and hotel were clean.

A good little hotel in the middle of it all in Chicago. Rooms are small, but the staff are exceedingly friendly and there is even a mini gym.

The first room we had was very tiny and there was construction going on outside that was very loud. We were moved the next day to an even smaller room where the window faced a wall and no sun could shine in the window. The accomodations were less than stellar. On the other hand, the staff was very helpful and responded timely to all of our concerns. There was nothing they could do about the extremely small room and the construction. We really weren't able to enjoy the room the first day because of the construction noise.

Here goes... check in ok... room so so very small, bedside light broken so overhead light worked which was so bright, turn that off and the reading lights went off. Then the coffee maker plug would not fit lenght wise to the plug, so I placed it on the floor the cord was again still short. So I jury rigged the device by putting it on top of the ice bucket. Then when the toliet flushed on another floor the room shook. Also I went to pull the drape open with the curtain pull and it came off in my hand! Then the concierge was asked for direction to a local establishment they could not provide directions. Thank goodness for cabbies!!! Door staff polite and helpful. Will not stay here again....

The hotel is located within the walking distance of all the major attractions. There are also a lot of old churches and very ornate buildings around it. It is a great area for walks any time of the day, and very beautiful in the evening. Right across from it there is a Trader Joe's - so we got there our bottles of water and snacks. The room was clean, bed comfortable, staff extremely friendly. They also have portable beds available to be brought up to the room. The windows in the room don't let any street buzz in. Complimentary breakfast had eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereals, instant oatmeal and grits, pancake machine, bagels, muffins, sweet rolls, juices, milk, yogurt and fruits I will stay there again
