I booked this hotel knowing full well of its location in Edinburgh as I have visited the city before. From the lobby and bar/eating areas you have a gorgeous view over Holyrood Park which could not be rivaled. My main issues with the hotel were as follows; the room had a lingering musty smell, the room's decor and furniture was extremely dated, our carpet had a large red stain beside the bed, the bedding had holes, on top of these smaller issues we had 2 bigger problems with our stay. The first of these issues was the fact we appeared to have been given a disabled room to stay in. I can obviously not comment on whether every room is designed in this way but I somehow doubt it. My main issue with this style of room was the fact my partner is around the 6ft mark and having a lowered sink did not make it the most comfortable experience for him nor did the fact our bathroom didn't actually have a door but simply a wooden slider style door that didn't actually meet when pulled across, let alone a lock, so there really was no privacy for any bathroom visits which I personally didn't appreciate. The other big issue we had was that of privacy. During one afternoon we had our room burst into by housekeeping. The next morning at 8.30am again housekeeping decided to start banging on the door. Although I realise housekeeping have a job I'm sure they should have a roster to see that we were due to check out later that day at 12 noon so why they felt the need to wake us up I just do not know, nor do I know what then about an hour later they decided to do the same again after they had been told the first time to not disturb us. Having stayed in a variety of hotels, both budget and luxury I can say that I was disappointed with my stay, even for the extremely reasonable price I would expect better. I would advise that the hotel rooms need a seriously overall. On the upside I would commend the hotel for it's amenities, as we did use the pool and jacuzzi which were very pleasant.

Very friendly staff, great location with bus stop in front of hotel, room was perfectly clean and setup with an extra twin bed for our daughter upon arrival. Great hotel!

stayed for 2 nights. Staff were friendly, location was good with a short bus ride to the centre. Swimming pool and sauna were nice, if a bit congested when busy. Would stay again.

We found the hotel expensive and felt breakfast should have been included with the price we paid. The room service menu late at night was very unsatisfactory, hence we ordered nothing! A member of staff from housekeeping came into our room without knocking at 8.30am to service the room just as I was about to shower therefore I was undressed. This was totally unsatisfactory. We returned to our room around 4pm to find our room still unserviced. We reported this to reception and they sorted this however we had to sit in reception while this was done. Complimentary coffee was served to us but the staff forgot about us and I had to remind them.
