Having stayed at many different all-inclusive resorts in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta, I must say that Hola Grand Faro is not special, and I would not recommend it. Compared to other Mexican hotels, it seems inadequately staffed.

Two years ago we visited for the first time, we had a great time, that's the reason we chose your hotel for a second time. This time we were a bit disappointed of water temperature in the pools, the jacuzzi was TOO COLD, bathroom/showers need some work, the attention given by the restaurant/pool staff is FANTASTIC, your'e very lucky to have such great and dedicated staff.

Pros of Grand Faro: -pleasant and attentive poolside restaurant staff -bartenders and waiters are all nice -breakfast was standard with an omelette-bar -playing volleyball in the one heated pool with an enthusiastic activity coordinator -room service -comfortable firm bed -beachfront location Cons: -called to make a reservation at La Gondola (one of the two restaurants open for dinner), and was told there were no openings til 9pm. When I questioned the staff member about this, she then said that if we arrive within 10 minutes, then she could seat us. She also chastised me and told me that in the future I need to call the concierge and make a reservation 5-8 hours in advance. We walked to the restaurant at that point, and it was EMPTY. After viewing the menu, we decided to go to the buffet at albatros, which was okay. -had eaten at La Gondola on a different night. The food was cold and sub-par. -The outdoor jacuzzi temperature was between freezing and lukewarm. Several other guests and I asked various staff members to heat it up. That never happened. There was only one warmish pool. -We requested 1 king bed and an ocean view, and even called the hotel to request this for us. When we checked in, we were simply handed 2 keys and pointed in a general direction, and told to take an elevator to our room (the room was on the lobby level so we did not need an elevator). I then asked if we had 1 king bed (I had read about people's requests not being honored on review sites) and was told that only the 2 bed rooms were available with an ocean view. We then heard from other guests from our event that they had the same issue. A single person would get a room with 2 beds, and people staying together would get a room with 1 bed. The hotel was definitely not full, so this doesn't make sense. It was like they didn't want to give customers what they requested. In fact, I saw a customer ask front desk staff for regular coffee (to make in her room), and she was then told that they only had decaf coffee. How is that possible? -our friends had a view of the smelly sewer in between our hotel and the one next door. -Only 1-2 restaurants were open at a time. Front desk staff didn't know what was open at what times. Even the TV monitor said that breakfast was at albatros - we walked to albatros and it was closed. We questioned staff about it and figured out that breakfast was elsewhere. When we first arrived, nothing was open except the poolside bar/restaurant - very limited menu, same food all the time. -There is a fish tank at the lobby bar, and it's in terrible condition. There is new and old fish feces everywhere, intertwined with the fake plants. The filter looks like it's filled with mold. It's inhumane and wouldn't be acceptable in the US. -The food quality was not very good. Not very flavorful. -The rooms are not even as good as a Days Inn in the US. For the price, it is not worth it. It's a very average quality place. Everyone has different standards though.

64 of our closest family and friends arrived 08/11/11 for our daughter's 11/11/11 wedding. The facility was perfect for our needs. The staff were friendly and accomodating and we wanted for nothing (well, except bottled water which was not always available). Service was outstanding, food was 10/10. Proximity to San Jose was really great and transportation to Los Cabos was always readily available. Our entire group had a marvelous time and we would go back in an instant!
