This hotel will one day be great again!! It seems to be under a lot of post Katrina construction. Only one elevator was working and the WIFI in the building only worked in the Lobby (and most the time didnt work). However, you could not get a better location for New Orleans! This hotel is in a FANTASTIC place! I would certainly come back again. I expect that it will be wonderful once the construction is completed.

Breakfast should be included (close-by eatery very poor); room & bathroom badly need worktops; no Wi-Fi in rooms. Beautiful court. Excellent reception staff.

Our overall experience was good, the only problems we had were the air condition.. It was FREEZING in there and it WOULD NOT get any warmer..... Also, the valet was expensive but other than that it was perfect!

The desk staff were very nice. The halls were very hard to navigate with a large suit case. UP and down steps to get to our room. Could not sleep with the toilet filling and draining out then filling again. The heat control was out of whack and would not heat the room. Maintenance people tried to fix the problems but were not quite good enough. Was nice to walk out the door and be in the Quarter with all the activity that goes on there. Quaint but substandard for the money

The hotel itself was clean and we got it for a good price. It's in a nice area, near everything you'd want in the French Quarter. Only complaint is that our room had no windows and we could hear everything in the hallway and in the rooms next to us. You also took your life in your hands taking the elevator, as it was broken about half the time we were other. However, staff was excellent- room was clean, and the hotel itself was very old, which would account for being able to hear everything through the walls.

It's a great location for a hotel to be -- on Decatur St. -- and has a nice look to it. The staff makes no promises that can't be kept, so prepare to take no for an answer if something just isn't possible, but they're nice enough. They will make dining/visitations if you just ask. With it being where it is, the area around the place can smell pretty ripe, which I'm betting is no fault of the staff. Not all of the rooms have windows with outside views, so be sure to explicitly ask about those when making reservations. There are two sheets and one blanket per bed, with one extra blanket and one extra pillow per bed in the closets. There was no fridge, microwave or stove in my room, but there was a four-cup capacity coffee maker (with complimentary coffee samples and cups), digital alarm clock, two lamps, ceiling lighting, and TV with plenty of channels. Bathroom with sink, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and a variety of towels. There was an ice bucket and champagne bucket as well. A good place to rest, with a nice courtyard as well. Not recommended for those with kids.

We had to get someone to spray our room 2 times because of the horrible mildew and mold smell. They sprayed th filthy, spotted carpet with Febreeze. Also, the bathtub had black mold all around the caulking. It was terrible.

We were a party of three and booked two rooms. One was acceptable, the other was like a jail cell with no windows. Apparently, we only paid for an internal room but there was no indication of this when booking through Orbitz.. Anyway, not bad, but there are so many other hotels in NOLA, worthwhile looking for another.

I was looking for something low price in the heart of the French Quarter, and this filled the bill. Lovely old building, friendly staff. But I had an interior room with no windows, and a bathtub that didn't drain properly.

Great old hotel, but the history comes with smaller rooms with fewer amenities. We loved it and the staff were all great and very friendly

me and my sister decided to stay in New Orleans for the night before we head back to Florida after a long drive from Texas. When we got to the hotel the lady at the lobby was very friendly and she gave us tips about where to go at night, i wasn't really impressed with the room, the tub was really dirty, carpet smells bad, it was creepy cause there was no window.

Hotel is in a good location--but the rooms are very tiny and dismal. Very little room to put things like baggage. Shower lacked hot water at times as well.

The location was great and the staff was excellent but the room was not too desireable. The safe did not work. The a/c was a little noise. The wall were apparently thin because the last night there we could hear the couple in the room below us "having a good time." They said they were remodeling, if so maybe they will fix these things.

When you go to New Orleans you go to be in New Orleans, not your hotel. This is a nice hotel w/ a great location. Traveled w/ a friend & we stayed in an interior room w/ 2 doubles; the room was adequately sized. The room had a window that looked onto the balcony; nice & quiet. The water pressure was good, especially considering it's in the Quarter. The water temp wasn't really hot when taking a shower but it's wasn't so cold that you would get goosebumps while showering. This would be the only negative I could list as far as the hotel goes. All considered I would definitely come back to this hotel again or recommend it to friends!
