Reasonable price for a hotel in a convenient location

The trip was to pay tribute to an old friend, a celebration of life. I visited friends in Virginia, Maryland and, DC. The Hotel is old but comfortable. I was disappointed in the breakfast menu. You had a choice of the buffet ($16.00) or coffee and a light fare for about $13.00. I put in a wakeup call for 04:45 the call never came; fortunately, I set he room alarm, which worked surprisingly. My cell was the last line of defense! No one was at the front desk when I checked out (06:00) or for that matter anywhere else. Since I was traveling alone the proximity to my destinations was acceptable.

I was in town for a business meeting. This Hilton has great staff! Across the board from the front desk to the cleaning crew they are polite, attentive and helpful! This beautiful hotel, though, suffers from a number of technical problems. In my 2 nights there, I was checked into a smoking room in error, the hotel keys were not available & staff had to let us in our rooms each time, the lock on my door was not working well & required repeated swipes + the handle was drooping so I couldn't use the do not disturb sign, the toilet plugged twice so I had to use the washroom on the lobby floor, which worked fine, the coffee filters don't fit the coffee maker in the room, so watery coffee is it. Just one too many technical problems. If they fix them, they've got a great hotel!
