Hilton Universal City Hotel Los Angeles Guest Reviews
This property has very nicely appointed rooms, but the hotel itself is very average. The layout of the lobby is terrible. Guests have to pass through the middle of the hotel buffet to get to the parking elevators. The guest room elevators are incredibly slow. Housekeeping did not refresh toiletries, which meant we ran out of shampoo on the second night. On the other hand, the room was large, bright, and comfortable, albeit awkwardly shaped. I had to add an extra night when I checked in and that required about 20 minutes of processing because they had to set up a whole new reservation (couldn't just add onto my existing night). The crowd here is what one would expect in Vegas: loud and ready to party. That's not the hotel's fault - it's a consequence of proximity to Universal Studios theme park - but be aware that if you're looking for a serene setting, this isn't it.

The room is ok but with only basic amenities. Some of the amenities available in other Hilton hotels are not available here.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. After check-in, clerk actually walked me to the elevator and pushed the floor button. Rooms were roomy and nicely decorated.

Lovely to stay inLA and not need a car. Universal studios a 5 min walk away, and universal citywalk just by the studios, perfect for evening eating. Great choice to suit all. Metro just down the road to access all LA. And, if you feel like being lazy, the shuttle takes you everywhere. Hotel itself excellent. Food looked amazing, but we didn't try. Rooms fabulous with great views. Would def. stay again.

Room was nice and reasonably priced for the area. I ate one dinner in the bar/restaurant. A good burger and a beer for $16, plus the wait staff was very friendly.
