They had given me a smoking room when I checked in. It stunk and I hadn't requested for a smoking room. Was not pleased after attending a wedding and having to move rooms at 1.30am in the morning

Generally our experience of this hotel was good. However, having paid in full up front, it was very annoying to have to keep explaining this when checking in. The Receptionist tried to charge us for our rooms twice. Then, on receiving our final account of extras, we discovered that despite have repeatedly told them that we had paid up front - we were charged again. The mistake was corrected immediately and with apologies, but it's a good job we checked our account carefully.

At last it looks as though some money has been spent on this hotel. New carpets and some of the furniture in the restaurant has been renewed/renovated (the remainder looks very tatty). Our first floor (non-smoking) room (238) looked straight out onto all the ducting for the hotel and was littered with cigarette ends. Staff friendly and helpful.
