Better door and room insulation!! My brand girlfriend and I went to spend our first weekend alone in months together, at the Hilton in San Diego. Chose the hilton ahead of time, after having an amazing stay at the Hilton at Universal Citywalk!! Which is a MUST STAY place, food atmosphere price cleanliness was amazing. UNFORTUNATELY - the same is not true in the GASLAMP DISTRICT. There was a sign on the desk with earplugs, warning of the train that passes. I didn't hear any train, or notice it, over the drunk idiots outside my door which was five feet from the elevators, I swear even heard the maid fart in the room next to us, the walls are PAPER THIN the door must be balsa wood. Every time someone came home drunk, we got to hear them laughing, arguing - then I though the worse- who could hear us?? We had ordered over three hundred dollars in ROOM SERVICE, another disaster, unlike the Universal hilton, here we were DOUBLED BILLED for the tip!! Not to mention the $36.00 a day for mandatory valet parking, self parking isn't allowed but I never needed the car that is the good thing can WALK everywhere, would almost suggest the train but then luggage on a train really!! I have never cared what a vacation cost, money isn't short or a problem when having a nice time, trust me stay at the $79.00 or less a night cheap hotel outside downtown, before spending the money on this hotel!! Obviously this is a Paris Hilton special, low class but still charging what real class should. The food was priced accordingly for beachfront - overall wasn't bad - wasn't fresh, the portions left you wishing you had ordered more and that a REAL CHEF had prepared the food. Considering the Omni was FOUR TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE, guess got what paid for, but there wasn't even a view of the water - which was the point of OCEAN FRONT HOTEL - this room had a view of a convention center and the park where bums were gathered for their nighttime sleep, think drunk patrons are bad, imagine listening to drunk bums argue middle of the night. NOTE - I take PRESCRIBED VA Federal sleep medication, and was still disturbed in my sleep. There is No sauna, no massage service - professional not hooker type, and hence no amenities we had bathing suits for no reason.
