Hilton Garden Inn Denver Tech Center

When you stay at a hotel and things are working of course most of the time your stay is pleasant it is when something isn't working that you find out how badly they treat their guest. In July 2011 we arrived late after a long drive and were tired. We got checked in and our went up to our room turned the Air Conditioner on, unpacked and went out for dinner. Came back and the room was still hot so I went downstairs and asked the front desk gentleman how to use the thermostat. He said to move it off of auto, so went back up and did as he instructed. Waited an hour still no change in temperature called back down & the maintenance gentleman was sent up. He worked on it for a while with us in the room (it was never offered to change rooms) and got the compressor to kick on (or at least the air conditioner was making noises like it was working). It started to cool slightly, we were tired and fell asleep. When we woke up at 7am the room was up to 84 degrees F. With in an hour of us waking up, getting ready, packing the room was up to 86 degrees F. We decided that since they couldn't get it working the night before, we should just leave early instead of lounging around. So when we went downstairs to checkout & inform the hotel attendant that our room's AC wasn't working, we waited around 8 minutes for her to decide to come to the desk and check on us. She was in the room behind the desk, which you know they have a camera back there so they can watch the front desk. Then when we told her our AC wasn't working she became very rude, short, and treated us like we were on purpose trying to get a free room. The kicker is we are a Hilton Honors member and this was our free night stay due to points. We felt as if we were expected to just deal with everything because our room was free.
