Hilton City Hotel Bath

I was a tourist from Australia and had a pleasant stay of 3 nights at the hotel while travelling by train in the south of England. The buffet breakfast was very good. I had one good dinner in the foyer bar and 2 good dinners in the dining room.

The hotel was easy to find from the train station and mere blocks from the Abbey and Roman Baths. The room was simple but beautiful. It was very clean. No mini fridge to keep food in, but we were only staying one night so that was ok. It's also right next to a large grocery store so it was easy to run out and grab food. I would definitely come back.

Really good value and a great location. A small but very comfortable room. A full buffet breakfast was included in the price which was a real bonus. We were able to park the car next door at a fee of 20 pounds per day. We would stay here again.

Location is v good, right in the heart of the city. Service good & staff friendly but overall, the hotel is looking a bit tired and would benefit from a refurb. Worst thing is the cost of parking. £21 per night is outrageous and is the one thing that would stop us from using this hotel again

Very clean and check in was fast. We had a room on the second floor but they had lift access to our room. Room was very clean and well laid out for our stay. For 1 night it was fine but it would be a bit small for a family to stay any longer if you needed to stay in the room during the day. Although the cot request was placed on the on-line booking we had to ask for one to be sent up after we got to the room. Breakfast was very good and there was lots of food. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town and close to all attractions. Overall a very good experience, ideally located and very clean and quiet.

There is no swimming pool although there is a picture of one behind the reception desk. The three course meal for £19.95 per person which included a bottle of house wine was very good value. The car parking was expensive at £21. I would stay there again but not go by car.

First impressions count and they certainly made an impression on us. The receptionist was rude, unfriendly and a very bad representative for Hilton hotels. I stay in hotels with work every week and have never experienced such an unfriendly service when checking into a hotel. We'd requested a twin and was put into a double - this was rectified by moving us to a twin which had not been refurbished. We ate in the restaurant and found a piece of plastic in the bread roll. This was brought to the attention of the waiter and he apologised and advised that he'd let the Chef know. We complained to the duty manager about the above and were given a bottle of champagne & free parking. This was a special weekend I'd arranged to say goodbye to a close friend and sadly we were left with a very bad impression of Hilton hotels. I'm staying at the Hilton in Nottingham with work tonight - let's hope it's a better experience.

Great location, very basic for 4 star hilton with average rooms for the price. I actually got a good price via [your website] but a lot of people were complaining which I would have been one of them if I had paid full price.
