The fixtures and furniture in the rooms are worn, cobbled together, and look like they are from the seventies. There was a cigarette burn on the bathroom counter. A water pipe was leaking through the drywall in the ceiling above the shower. the bathtub was 4 inches higher than normal because of a sub-floor. The TV was a 14 inch CRT. The hotel room and bathroom were the smallest I have ever stayed in. The hotel restaurants are expensive, and the business center charges 3 pounds for 10 minutes of internet access WTF? The nearby NEC has a Subway restaurant that gave me the trots, so I ended up eating at the Burger King in the airport, because there's nothing else reasonably priced within walking distance. The NEC and airport also have internet access for 1 pound for 20 minutes, so go there. The other nearby hotel has no internet terminals available. Birmingham? On the good side, the carpet was reasonably clean, the hot water was hot. The lobby and public areas had marble floors and were nicely decorated.

Lovely hotel when you arrive, but parking is a nightmare, you can drive around for 20 minutes looking for somewhere to park as this hotel is huge. Pricey for drinks, 2 large glasses of house rose wines cost me £18.00 at the bar and a very weak coke was £2.00. Restaurant prices too expensive, but we did eat on the second night in the restaurant as it was buffet style and I like the idea. However, the food did not taste fresh at all and we waited some 30 minutes for a Pizza and chips ordered for my nephew. We were happy with the staff and the way in which they spoke to us everyone was extremely friendly. Other than the swimming pool the hotel has no facilities for young children and not even a child's movie was available to purchase on the "in room entertainment package". I complained about a leak of water under my basin unit on the Saturday afternoon as the bathroom was "Flooded" and I had not used the shower to cause it. I think the leak was from behind the toilet, so not very hygienic. When I checked out on the Sunday at 12.00 noon the leak was still there and no one had been up to my room to look at it. Overall, considering the price paid for the hotel and the high prices whilst we were there it was certainly not value for money and highly overpriced.

First impressions of the hotel are fantastic, large open plan entrance with marble everywhere. However, when we entered our room the toilet seat in the bathroom was covered in urine, rather than complain my wife just proceeded to clean it up. Prices are close to extortionate £27.00 for a bottle of house rose, £4.30 for a lager shandy and £2.00 for a small glass of ice (with coke in it) as it was watered down. To cap it all they then charge a 10% service charge fee for serving you the drinks in the restaurant. Food was buffet style and tasted like it had been out for hours, however the turkey was very fresh and plenty of it. My wife was visiting the NEC, so you could not get any closer to the exhibition centre so location was fantastic. No amenities for children other than the pool, no TV Channels for children, so I took my grandson out for the day. We stay away often in much lesser quality hotels (Village and Novotel) but these all cater well for children. Hilton should learn that not everyone is on a business trip using there hotels.

Great location for a large function with no problems with competing functions at the same venue. The hotel is large enough to accommodate many functions at once. Very well laid out and very clean.

Nice hotel and quiet, however on my arrival after 9pm I found the window in the room open and heating switched off, very cold. No mini bar, would have been a good option. But overall the single room on the small side but very good value for money at only at €51 including breakfast.

Convenient for a neaby conference not NEC but walking distance to the NEC. Courtesy pickup from Birmingham International. I had a single room which was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower worked OK (shower curtain not screen). WIFI was not available from my room although was available from other rooms - there was also WIFI available in other public areas of the hotel. In general the food was very expensive but offset by the low price of the room for a single person I wouldn't have starved for an overnight stay. I needed to have a snack and decided not to pay £14 for a burger although i ordered a chocolate drink without looking at just under £5 ouch! Wedges and garlic dip £4.65. In comparison the breakfast at £10 was great value and was one of the best breakfasts I have had in over 50 hotel stays. I used the hotel as a simple overnight stay but would certainly look to use it again unless I needed to work on the internet from my room.

Not the best of experiences. The hotel is actually being refurbished and finding the room was not easy. Also, the quality of the room (bathroom, bed etc) were not up to the Hilton standard. Staff was not very good, but helpful enough.

Excellently placed for either the NEC or airport facilities. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are quiet and well appointed. My only annoyance on the last two occasions is the timing of the shuttle bus from Birmingham International - the drivers seem to be running 5 minutes too early and I have to wait another 20 mins. A lot when you have been travelling for 12 to 14 hours and wanting a bed asap.

I left a shirt and when I tried to contact hotel phones were playing up. However, when I later rang and spoke to housekeeping staff they were to have got back to me but no one has to date (2 days later). This was the only thing that change my view about the service I received. Having stayed at this hotel in the past I had a very good experience.

We requested a no-smoking room but ended up in one anyway. It absolutely stank of stale smoke, and though there was nothing obvious the place did not feel clean. The en-suite is tired and needs a facelift. The hairdryer is in the bathroom and not at all convenient to use. Food in the Millers Bar is very average quality but expensive. The best thing about the place was breakfast, though the 1st pot of coffee was cold. The only thing going for this place is its proximity to the NEC etc. I would use it again, but I would make certain about getting a non smoking room and take a lot of hand wipes, hairdryer and make sure I ate somewhere else before returning there for the night.

The hotel is located in the NEC grounds and is only a 7 minute walk from the convention centre. It is an ideal location when visiting a convention.
