Hilton Princes Wharf Auckland is just a supurb experience. maybe I am a wee bit biased as it was my Civil Union 'first night". But check in was relaxed and efficient. The room was exactly as marketed with a superb view down the Auckland harbour. So we woke to a vista of rippled waters, ferries scuttling across the harbour, no city noise or polution. This is a hidden gem. Not so easy to find if you are unfamiliar and the signage is not illuminated at night. The bed, when we arrived exhausted after a day of frantic last minute ceremony detail attention, and a function filled with family and friends chatter and celebration, was a bed to die for. Huge, soft yet supportive, a room with a not over fussy format yet every comfort to upper middle standard, was a relaxing environment. A huge bathrrom by city hotel standards; and of course company to spend a lifetime with. Breakfast on the restaraunt balcony was special quiet aside from the company. The service was genuine... they could have been New Zealanders but they were all recent international immigrants as is often the case with hotel staff. Check out too was friendly and relaxed and efficient. Hilton Viaduct Quay Auckland is an awesome experience. Thankyou to hotel staff and management. 21.12.11

I had heard about the beautiful views at the Hilton because they have floor to ceiling windows so when I saw a good price on Orbitz I grabbed it. Turns out there were no views with the deal, so be careful- to get a view we had to " upgrade". The room was very modern, the newspaper was delivered to the door, there is a gym and there were lots of pillow choices. So if you are into that you will enjoy the Hilton. The location is on the wharf - close to most of what you would want to do. They have wireless access in the room but there is no choice for 1/2 hour so we had to buy an hour for $15 NZ and that hour keeps running. So if you only need 15 minutes that's too bad. This seems a bit of a ploy by Hilton to raise revenue at the expense of customer service and that is the reason I gave average on value and amenities. I don't think the value was there for the price we paid

The standard of staff service and food was excellent, room service was good but we felt that fresh milk should have been provided in your room with cheese and crackers in a place like New Zealand where we pride ourselves on our dairy produce, also some seasonal fruit apples, pears or kiwi fruit would have added to the ambiance of our room.
